Man o man what a journey with toys, I've broken,lost,gave,gifted,lend,shared,loved,hated,sold,bet,bought a lifetime of action figures,made tons of great memories with action figures. As old as I am, when I was a kid these characters/toys will alway be there,thanks to the sculptors, animators etc, great list👍👍

More reviewers should do older figure reviews like this. Right now I’m going through my backlog and reviewing all my old figures while still getting new ones through the pipeline. Also, getting the Hacks Skeletons today to work with my Castlevania figures. They look awesome!

I'm happy to see that Wheeljack figure make the cut. I picked up the Dead End version of that body and I maintain that it is one of the perfect Transformers toys. It has a satisfying transformation sequence that isn't too simple but not too complicated and easy to remember, the vehicle mode is a fun basic car, the robot mode is a decent action figure, and the accessories store away in either vehicle or robot mode without detracting from the silhouette in an annoying way

Ah man, 2012 was an excellent year for toys, particularly Transformers. The Prime figures you chose are still so excellent, I love that Wheeljack particularly, I still remember how I got him. I know a 3rd party company recently released a version of this Wheeljack with more accessories, he looks excellent! Looking forward to the 2011 list!

Great trip down memory lane with this video! That Red Ninja was easily my favorite ninja mold until the Articulated Icons hit. I almost can't believe the Dollar General Joe-line even happened, and you put both of my faves on the list (though I really liked the blue Trooper repaint better). Great time for the scale as a whole, thanks Joe and Hasbro's Marvel Universe line.

This is a wonderful nostalgic trip. I know it's nostalgia, but reminds me of a lot of stuff that was being done very right back then that I don't know if it's as good these days. The washes and unique sculpt on Thor, the more realistic proportions of bucky Capt, and also just being able to find stuff on the peg lol. I remember getting the Marvel Universe Iron Fist at Kroger. It's also interesting how this list mirrors what I was picking up back then. Very Transformers dominated. But I've still got that Colossus and couldn't agree more. Basically everything from before like 2016 blurs together for me. I'd have to go through the collection and checklists trying to figure out what and when. Plus maybe my Amazon history.

As a kid, I always thought of that Snake Eyes as the ski patrol version, because of the goggles.

Colossus is my favorite Marvel character and that is still my favorite figure of him as well. Just something about thos proportions that just looks right.

As much as I enjoy seeing the impressive poses people do on Instagram, it's refreshing to see this display of a love of figures for the sake of the figures themselves regardless of how they look in a specific pose or photo. And this reminds me that I need a Bucky Cap and Thor in this suit.

At this point in time, I was probably only getting figures occasionally at my comic store and popping into TRU a couple times a year. Good list.

In 2012, new TMNT Playmates dropped, and the basic turtles were pretty outstanding. Beast Saga was out that year and I was obsessed with those, so my list would probably be the 4 turtles, and my favorite 6 Beast Saga figures (going by description since the names still confuse me to this day: Turtle General, Dog Doctor, Shark, Owl Wizard, Bat w/jet turbines, Wolf w/ James Bond Villain eye scar).

The reason Colossus seems bigger than Marvel Legends is because Diamond Selects are 7" scale, not 6". Depending on the character though I find it's close enough.

Without doing too much research for a comment, my favorite figures of 2012 would have included the Elite 16 CM Punk and the 2012 series TMNT figures. 🙂

I only cherry-picked Transformers Prime, and I had Rumble, the Vehicon, and Wheeljack. They're solid figures and great Transformers! Prime was a great show!

That's funny. I have my Terrax BAF still but I have no recollection of owning that Thor. Was he one of those figures that was included in the wave didn't actually include a BAF part so maybe I didn't pick him up?

2012? Oh, man, I have no idea. I know based on this video, this was the time I was falling out of Transformers, and getting into Marvel Legends. I had Nick Fury and Hawkeye from The Avengers movie line, probably some Predator figures, probably a bunch of MacFarlane Halo figures, but beyond that, it's a blur. I can remember the apartment I was living it, so I'm trying to visualize my old set up, but most of what I remember was older than 2012. I wished I had bought more Diamond Select figures back then when they were easier to come by (and cheap). It's a weird line. Sometimes they just nail it and it's perfect. Then you see a figure and it's just ugly as sin and you wonder how it made it past R&D.

I wasn't collecting figures, back then; didn't have the money or the space for it, sadly. I do have a question: 1. You've been getting some Lanard Toys The Corps figures, recently. Ever thought about making a History Of episode for them? I'm curious, because I used to collect the franchise's bizarre Road Rovers-esque 12-inch figure line K-9 Corps, and I would love to see you do something to showcase those, if not the entire Corps series. Did you know how expensive the K-9 Corps figures are on the secondary market, now? It's insane; I ended up getting almost a thousand bucks for my collection from a single seller who was trying to get as many copies of the figures as possible for a collection/mini shrine. Wonder what happened to the guy?
