2005 had the iconic mark to finish and broke a drought, but the game itself was very meh. 2018 was way better than 2006. I'm a neutral cats fan we won 4 gf's; I can still comfortably say 2018 was the best game of any GF since 2000.

@CollingWoodfan101-px4vf overcame a large defecit, playing away, the ridiculous angle of Sheed's goal, and the winning goal was scored with 2mins left. Also, the drama of the messed-up bounce in the goal square of WC, keeping Pies within 5pts and potentially able to win. That's why. It's not my fault your team has lost a GF every 5yrs on average. Statistically, it's just more probable.

9 very harsh for that grand ifnal , deserved to be at least top 5, maybe even top 3. So many what if moments that grand final, sad that we didn't win it but if only one of the what if moments that didn't go our way went our way 😃😃

I feel like there was only 9 great grand finals since 2000 and the 2021 grand final was added in there to make up the numbers. I would put it back to 1987 when the national competition started and put the 1989 grand final in there.

I think 2023 was best. Even though I am a lions fan, it was an even game the entire game and Collingwood cam out on top. There were at least 10 different lead changes. Respect your opinions though

Gotta say, really not seeing eye to eye on any of the ordering. 2005 and 2006 had thrilling endings but the games themselves were pretty dull. Sydney’s tempo game was boring. 2014 wasn’t great but it was better than 2021, which was a blowout by the end. Even 2011 was a lot better than 2021. The top three, in any order, are: 2012, 2018 and 2023. Then it’s 2002, 2009 and 2010 draw in any order. Tbh the remaining GFs since even 1990 were duds.

2021 was a great grand final up until the fourth quarter, you could make the same argument for 2011 too though. I would consider putting 2012 in the top 4, not first though

2011 is a lot better than people give it credit for in my opinion and deserves to be up there more than 2021. I think 2006 is better than 05 and I consider it a good game, Sydney stayed in the game the whole time making it exciting. 2014 is up there as one of the worst in my opinion, i remember that game starting pretty well but Hawthorn ruined the rest of the game. Wasn't close, wasn't exciting. your top 3, fair. after that, yeah guess so. don't entirely agree but fair. After that I can name a few grand finals from both the 2000s on and even the 90s that were better than most give credit. 1991 (until the final quarter), 1992, 1997 and 98, 2001, 2004, 2008, 2011,2016. All genuinely good games of football in my opinion. Then you got average games: 1990,1993,1994,1995,1996 is actually slightly underserving of that title but it doesn't belong in the other tier, 1999,2000,2003,2013-2015,2017,2020,2021,2022. Then you got the ones that were just bad: 2007,2019. I don't see too many grand finals as duds personally I think it's more mixed than you think

You can always find a Collingwood hater by which GF they rank higher our of 2018 and 2023. Any average viewing knows 2023 was a significantly better game than 2018, which has stretchs of 10+ minutes without teams kicking a goal... 2023 clearly better.
