Great list. When it was the Alice Cooper Band, before Alice went solo, they put out a string of great albums.

I don't know what my full top ten would be, but for sure Tom Waits' Closing Time, David Bowie's Aladdin Sane and Willie Nelson's Shotgun Willie would make my list.

Ok here is my top 10. In no particular order. Quadrophenia by The Who. Goats head soup by The Rolling Stones. Tanx by T-Rex. Queen by Queen. Billion dollar babies by Alice Cooper. Houses of the holy by Led Zeppelin. New York dolls by The New York dolls. Aladin Sane by David Bowie. Sabbath bloody Sabbath by Black Sabbath. Raw power by Iggy and the Stooges.

Excited to see 77-79. A lot of my favorites were released in that time frame. Glad to see Billion Dollar Babies on the list though. Definitely a top 5 record for me.

Agree with some. However back in 73 i was listening to Budgie, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Spooky Tooth, Atomic Rooster and so many other progressive rock bands.

Stooges' Raw Power is so, so much better and more influential than Dark Side of the Moon - easily the most overrated album of all time. The only really good tracks are "Money" and "Time", that's it. People seem to worship the "phenomenon" but not exactly the songs. Not to mention 1973 had Quadrophenia, Innervisions, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Selling England by the Pound, etc.
