it usually happens with reviewers that get to see loads of different movements and they get bored of looking at the same movements in all watches. However, for normal watch owners, it's nice to see that intricate mechanism even when not decorated, no matter the pricepoint.

That bullhead looks like my vintage Seiko bullhead.. the sub dials are different, on the Seiko they are at 3 & 9, but still very close look..

Hi Jody. Thanks for another pre-sale round up of some not the norm options. Very interested in that Red Star bullhead. Having gone on to the AliExpress store it looks like it comes on a bracelet and has the leather included as a free gift. Did you spot this? Also on a Bullhead note, I notice that Detroit Mint have now released the Cliff Booth as an automatic! Bit pricey though so might have to think about what might have to make way for it.

Howdy! Love your videos and I'm very interested in the NOS Titoni you showcased. Any idea what size that case is? I've got a 7.5" wrist and most vintage pieces I've found are ~34-36mm. Its a 36 i think. To see what tools you need, Just look for any mod video which replaces a 2824 movement in a watch.

Ordered two Pagani Design and a San Martin first day of the sale... June 27th. One has already arrived and one has started its journey... clearing US customs I'm a little concerned that the PD Speedy I ordered using your link hasn't made any progress at all. No tracking number or anything. The estimated delivery date was July 10th. Tracking details "Sorry, Logistics delay, we will delivery it to you as soon as possible." "Sorry, there is no updated logistics information. Please try again later". This was supposed to ship from a US location. Is anyone else experiencing difficulties? Great selection as always! Might I add that the Red Star Bullhead is a mish-mash copy of the Seiko 6138-0040 (brown), and the 6138-0030 Kakume in blue, although the latter wasn't a bullhead. Either way, it's nice to see a hommage of these legendary and underrated vertical clutch/column wheel automatic Seikos from the '70s.

I've been eying up one of the QM Milspec divers for a bit now, but it is worth noting that the Miyota 2115 does not have a 10 year battery life, as they claim, but only 3 years, according to the product page on the Miyota website.

I'm so tired of all watches that almost looks the same. I have bought several during many years, the last one is a Citizen with radio controlled time and Eco-Drive, so now I have two of them. They are well made, and have always the exact time, and no need to change the battery 😜 I got some watches from AliExpress as Pagani and some others. From now on I will stick with my Citizens and some others. I hope that I can slow down my strong desire of getting a new watch! A nice looking Citizen does not cost much with controlled time/date/Eco-Drive from$350. I'm getting the time from Germany that is covering the southern half of Sweden. Good luck with your watches! I got one of the finest from Pagani Design, with a screwed in crown, and another for rotation of the inside of the chronograph ring. Pagani makes sports cars in Italy and the watches was very beautiful and stylish (even the back). But it seems like they left the factory in China and new watches turned up from China almost everyone looked like a Rolex-copy, and I actually told them to make their own design. Amazon are selling Pagani and PAGRNE DESIGN ( ! ) but no one got the good design as before. Information about Pagani is from Wikipedia

Not sure why my earlier comment is not seen, it must be getting flagged, but I'll repeat: Jody, I love your channel, have been subscribing for a long time. But the PT5000 that you recommended (for modding) is most likely NOT legitimate. You know what they say about "when a deal is too good to be true..." A PT5000 being offered for under $20 is almost guaranteed not genuine. This is one reason the PT5000 gets a reputation for unreliability - it's hard to insure that you're really dealing with a genuine one from the manufacturer (HK Precision Technology.).

Hi Jody Love the channel "Blah Blah Blah" The description of the "Milspec" doesn't seem to ring true (although I have been wrong once before but we've lost touch) The movement is said to be a Miyota 2115 yet that only has a 2-3 year battery life. How have they managed to more than triple this? or is it just the usual marketing wank? The ETA F06.402 in the CWC is a different animal being Jewled and having a longer battery life. Do you think Qimei have the caliber or their duration wrong.

I'm sick of which direction Pagani Design is developing. Two weeks ago the price for the Explorer homage was 133 EUR. Today they raised the price to 155 EUR so they can offer the watch in the summer sale next week for 133 EUR again and PRETEND it's a good deal. Was a big Pagani Design fan in their beginning but these guys are getting greedy and fool their customers. Not going to buy from them again

That might not be a real PT5000.. I would get one from San Martin or Cronos stores instead. There are many 2824 Chinese clones and copies, including cheap Tongji-based ones. Beware :)

I was curious about the Seiko VK63 movement and was saddened to find this anecdotal failure video. Taking his research into account, there are other users that are reporting the same failure. I had to pick up the Titoni case too. It just showed up today. I agree with you that it is new old stock. No one but Vostok is making bracelets this bad anymore. At 36mm it is a bit small for me but I can pull it off. The only disappointment is the 19mm lug width but I can fit in a 20mm strap easy enough.

Jody, Some of the comments on the sale page of the "PT5000" indicate that that movement is not an actual PT5000. Also the fact that they have removed pics of an actual PT5000 and changed the verbage, also indicates that there may have been some "misguidance" on the sellers part and this is in fact a clone of a clone. I have one on the way though and perhaps when yours arrives you can put it on the time-grapher to confirm the beat rate and authenticity / quality

You know I have actually had a lot of trouble with the Chinese made auto movements. I have had two DG2813's, one which would stop randomly, and the other which was an absolute mess on the time grapher. I also have a 2824 clone which has a rotor that won't spin freely enough to be wound in a winder, and a seagull 2836 that sheared a little bit off the teeth of one of the time set gears, making the gear skip and rendering setting the time basically impossible. Four movements, all of them problematic. After the last one, I actually just bout a real ETA 2836 elabore for that watch project and, while expensive, works perfectly and keeps excellent time. Best of luck with your project Jody, I haven't tried a PT5000 yet.

Got the "Berny" Compressor a few days ago, I love it! Finish is impeccable, rubber bracelet is super comfy. It's a bit 'tall' but I think it'll make a *great* sport watch. And for 60 quid shipped, amazing really. Thanks for the tip! Oh, the lume is pretty good too! Last all nigth. Not as bright as some other watches, but definitely works just fine and is legible.

It kinda bothers me on the Speedy that in some pictures and clips the date wheel is black, and in others it's white. Inconsistencies like that always worry me cause it seems like you don't really know what you'll get, and the black wheel looks so much better.
