Today, we explore the Top 10 Animal Trolls in Speedrunning. The animals featured in this video do a number of things; from resetting speedruns, to knocking over cameras. When I was researching clips for this video, it was hard to find ten of them that fit the theme. I enjoyed making this video, so if you would like to see another one, let me know in the comments section if there are any animal related speedrunning clips that I missed! Hah, greetings from Mario the Cat's human! Brief point of order: What I was actually playing was the Dragon Warrior Randomizer, which, uh, randomizes Dragon Warrior. In addition, it lets you pick from a bunch of different sprites for your hero (Which I'm guessing is what the "discoloration" mentioned in one comment is). Here, I'm playing as the Prince of Cannock from Dragon Warrior 2, who is widely known as the best* character in the series. Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed the clip, I certainly laughed at some of the other videos featured here! *The absolute worst. THEEEEE WORST.

Imagine not saving your game for like 1-2+ hours, your parents say "DINNER TIME!" and you say "just a minute, I need to reach a save point." Then you just lose all that progress because "FUCKING WASH YOUR HANDS AND TURN OFF THAT FUCKING GAME GOD DAMN IT" Learned to just turn off the TV and put a tiny piece of tape over the red LED on the SNES so it doesn't look like it's on.

It’s interesting how some runners (especially newer ones I guess) think speedrunning is a lot more restricted than it actually is, like here regarding the timer. Sure you might not want to keep going after getting distracted by your pet like that, but some of them (like Stealinbread at 5:00) legit thought the run was invalid because their timer got reset. Having a timer on screen is just convenience for the runner and the viewers, it shouldn’t be required for verification since the run can be retimed anyway

It also shows a large diffrence in some speedrunners. Like yeah pets do that why be so mad at it another practice run down at the worst and or just lost exact splits just start timing from there and fix later if you need to

I personally hate speedrunning without splits or without a timer, I once reset 7 hours into a run just because I accidentally resetted the timer lol (I still had ~an hour & a half to 3 hours to go but my run after that finished sub 7 hours lol) If I was ahead and a decent amount into the run I'd just continue but if I wasn't ahead then whatever I'll just do another run lo

@@justnobody5527 Speedrunning can be pretty high-stress sometimes. it doesn't surprise me at all that an unpredicted RL interruption would cause some people to lose their composure enough to kill the run. You get used to ways in which a game you race can mess you up, but not necessarily something messing up your setup or any other animal-caused circumstances shown in the vid.

Yeah thanks for not displaying animal abuse in this video. I’m really proud of all the runners in this video. They treat their pets with respect and they wouldn’t resort to “throwing” or “hitting” them. Makes me very happy. Lol. The last cat was an absolute fluff monster that I would def cuddle to death. 😻

Here’s a fun bit of animal psychology. Cats want to do what you are doing, so set up a separate keyboard/controller for the cat. They’ll happily paw at their own keyboard and let you do your own thing. Not a sure thing but definitely helps
