You know who else is amazing? Sally Jackson from the Percy Jackson series. First off she is such a magnificent mortal that Poseidon, a god, fell for her when he had sworn not to after a world ending prophecy said he shouldn't have kids. She's so great the world is worth destroying to be with her. When she realized her son let off a scent that would attract monsters she married an emotionally and physically abusive and supernaturally smelly guy to mask her sons scent to protect him. After Percy learned to protect himself she uses medusa's heat to turn said abusive husband to stone and sell his corpse for money to go back to college. She clearly hates that Percy has to go and save the world and risk his life fighting monsters but she somehow doesn't go insane from the worry. When the army of Kronos invades Manhattan what does she do when the fight comes to her? She blasts a monster away with a shotgun. Sally Jackson, Awesome.

@nkbujvytcygvujno60066 жыл бұрын
You should see the video "Treasure Planet: Disney's Biggest Mistake." Before you judge, the "Biggest Mistake" referred to in the title isn't the movie itself, it's how Disney screwed up their ad campaign for it, making the movie sound boring and cheap, and purposefully released it at the wrong time next to far more famous movies, all because of a petty studio argument. The video explains how Treasure Planet was actually amazing and why it's so unheard of despite its beauty.

My pick for the list, not exactly #1 or anything, would likely be abuelita Imelda from Coco. Before she died, she faced immense heartbreak but was able to rise above it for the sake of her family. Don't care how old this video is I will sing my praises for Jim Hawkin's mother in Treasure Planet; Sarah Hawkins. She's so caring and loving to Jim as a little boy and a young adult. The early scene where she catches Jim still up, and she starts playing with him is very sweet. Then when she convinces him to go to bed, the way they say 'I love you' to each other is so heartwarming because those three words just drip with honest care for each other. Then later, we learn of her hardship going through being a single parent to Jim, how it's affecting her and how Jim's response to it is also affecting her. Even when Jim is breaking the law, she stands by to protect him but still trying to properly discipline him. At the beginning of the movie, I feel like it's focused mainly on Jim's mother and this could be because she's the only parental figure in his life until John Silver pops up. Everything in the beginning directly affects Sarah in one way or another. It makes a point on her mental and emotional state, then slowly goes to Jim. After losing the Inn, the story shifts to Jim who just wants to make his mother happy. I know theres things im missing, im sorry im really bad with words--

I love that you included Mrs. Brisby, that movie is a huge nostalgic favorite of mine. It really is one of the greatest films about bravery and I love that the main character was a single mom without any real talents. Not a lot of filmmakers can turn that into an empowering characteristic but this one did.

I think one of my favorites has to be Maddie Fenton from Danny phantom. Yeah she’s sometimes WAY too invested in her job and her experiments but what puts her on my list is how competent she can be and how far she’d go to protect her son. Another favorite has to be the crystal gems from Steven universe. Yeah rose gave up her physical form to give birth to Steven but garnet, amethyst, and pearl(they are mother figures to Steven so I think it counts in my book.) do take good care of Steven keeping him safe while helping him recognize his potential as a gem himself. Hey can you do a top ten animated siblings?

Moms are just the absolute best. After I seeing this video, I want to hug my mom as soon as I see her. Thinking about my own favorite mom from animation, outside of Hana, I'd say chisa yukizome from dr3. Technically she's not a mother, but she certainly acts like one with how she takes care of and encourages her students. Fun fact, she and Hana have the same English voice actress.

The Amazing World of Gumball, Nicole is best mom. She has her kid's back, will literally fight and kill someone for them, and will risk her job for them. Not only is she there for them, she can be a good parent and ground her kid without it feeling like it's for nothing.

Kushina Uzumaki. She may have only gotten to be a mother for a short time, but she showed how much love she had for her child and how strong her will to protect him was, sacrificing everything to keep Naruto safe. On top of that, she made a sacrifice that caused her unimaginable pain, yet did so because she knew it would help her child in the future. Kushina kicks ass as a mother and the only thing that sucks, is she never got to spend more than an hour with her child.

Not technically animation but I’d still have to say Preston from the Deadpool comics because A) she can put up with Deadpool and anyone who can do that deserves an award B)she raises deadpool’s Daughter Ellie, who may or may not be a mutant(I’m not 100mpercent on that) C)she juggles her family and working as a shield agent so well And D) she has a synthetic body.

So many great mother's and mother figure's I've always been a fan of Bulma, she know's exactly what to expect from the saiyan's being around Goku all her life, and her brilliance with gadgets and manipulation has aided greatly. Honestly there was no better match for Vegeta and the fact that she can scare the strongest beings in the universe with nary an effort say's a lot. I never hated Chi-Chi mind you as others have, and I feel Teamfourstar's rendition of Chi-Chi explains her character the best, but Bulma both in the original and in the abridged is a stand out mom for me. Now for best dad's...*cough* Piccolo *cough*

Annie Hughes from Iron Giant, she is a single parent working at a dinner and managing to do well by herself and Hogarth even after losing her husband, she is supportive, firm but fair and when there is a alien war machine on a rampage she (and surrogate father dean) focus only on getting him medical attention in a warzone.

Finns mother, Minerva, may not be alive in the technical sense, but she's such a well characterised person with such a sweet demeanor that you know she'd do everything to protect her child if the chance weren't ripped from her thanks to Martin.
@kidpixel48184 жыл бұрын
It’s not entirely Martin fault. Sure his past miss deeds catching up to him is what got the ball rolling, if it weren’t for the ‘guardian’ and the possible head trauma he got from it, they probably would’ve been a happy family.

Tricia Elric and Izumi Curtis (foster.) Both were devoted mothers. Tricia did all she could to protect her sons from the hardships of growing up in a broken family to the point of ignoring her own health needs. Izumi sold her soul and ultimately her ability to have more children to bring her baby back from the dead; she was more tough love, but still had heartwrenchingly tender moments .
@youinanalternateuniverse6 жыл бұрын
No dead moms Though Izumi is 100% a good mom (Tbf though it all depends on which version you’re watching because Izumi does die in COS, a movie that’s a continuation of FMA 03)

Duncan’s mom from Firebreather. She managed to stop a king of dragons, a kaiju, from trying to wipe out humanity by making a deal/pact with him. That pact was to give birth to his child and in return he allows himself to be locked up along with not killing everyone. Check it out.

While watching this list i could only think of one of my favorite animated mom, Carol Kincaid from OK KO Lets be Heroes! She's very kind, caring and supportive of her son and his interests and only wants to best for him, even if it may seem dangerous or a mistake of KO to do she trusts his judgement because she knows her son is smart enough to make his own choices! Carol and KO's relationship is just one of my favorite things about the show because it just feels sweet and genuine how much they love each other :')

Thanks to Pooh's Heffalump Movie I would totally put Kanga as a top animated Mother. She lets Roo go on some of the greatest adventures and helps him to see that it is best to enjoy the time given to you while you are young.

She doesn't have a big role, but the mother from The Iron Giant was a great character. There was an animé called Battle B-Daman that I watched a lot when I was younger. The mother in that was a good character, notable in that she adopted the main character and was the biggest parental figure in the whole show.

The Incredibles are one of the best animated families ever. You can really see them struggling through their own problems, and the kids problems, and still take on those problems with the best they know, and thus evolve as parents, supers, and familiy. Specially loved to see Bob Parr going from absent and never wanting to wait to be super N.1 again to family dad capable of working his ass off to make the kids grow nice, healthy and successful. And trusting their kids any time when facing danger.

Honestly, the best mom is Garnet from Steven Universe. She is open-minded, strong (in the real way and the other way), and she loves Steven. You can even say that she loves Steven twice as much as Pearl and Amethyst because she is literally two lesbians in a trench coat. Honestly, anytime Garnet is onscreen is the best time. Especially when she is with Steven. “Hello” “Yes. The children are playing swords.” “Sorry, playing with swords.” “They’re bleeding! Oh no. They are dead. Don’t call again.” “Sorry. I panicked.” There’s also... “That’s a lie. Your middle name is cutie-pie”

I agree with all of these and would like to add a few more: Sabine Cheng from Miraculous, Kyoko from Fruits Basket, Mrs. Higurashi from Inuyasha, Touko from Natsume Yuujinchou, Leafie from Leafie: A Hen in the Wild (slightly breaking the rules here, but it's worth it), Plio from Dinosaur, and Franny from Meet the Robinsons. As you say, the list could go on for miles, but these are some that were neither listed nor shown in your lovely video.

Surprise video - always a good sign. Some of my personal choices made it on the list - Jumbo, Miss Tonitini, Wolf Children. Honorable mention would be Ursa from Avatar, even though she wasn't on-screen very long, but I think she had to be especially strong, considering her Environment.
