I just wanted to say that Freezing is a pretty good anime. I think the soundtrack added a lot to it. It's one of those anime where when you hear the soundtrack and you just think back to the good old days. Like seriously, I can't stop talking about the soundtrack. It's that good.

This is a small list of anime with the most memorable, epic, sad, and interesting soundtracks i gathered over the years. Some of those anime are: Tower of God, Hunter x Hunter, Plunderer, Highschool Dxd, Akame Ga Kill, Freezing, Trinity Seven, AOT, Bluelock, Fena: Pirate Princess, Asterisk War, Vinland saga ( 1 season in particular), k-project, Fire Force, Eminence in the shadow, bleach, neon genesis, Made in Abyss,... I'm sorry for naming these many, but as a soundtrack composer myself, I can't stop geeking about amazing anime soundtracks.

The ironic part is a few of these were absolutely amazing Manga that I read with few regrets. Particularly Freezing and Blade of the Immortal have really good stories. And of course Berserk too, but it's the goat of the dark fantasy genre.

Well I own 4 of the 10 on the list.......don't judge. If you liked the movie Eyes Wide Shut and were a very finely folded Aluminum hat (tin hats went out of style years ago) then Speed Grapher is right up your alley. The odd thing about Shigurui Death Frenzy is the color pallet is so understated and it is just beautiful. Sure the story is as harsh as anything I have ever seen. Most interesting is that there are no good characters at all - which in and of itself is unique as hell. A great watch!

I got Rin from a Dollar General a few months back, with no idea what it actually was. I’m glad they had the good sense to mark it as a mature item in their inventory, though it’s intended audience is pretty blatant from the cover. The series itself was definitely a ride, and I really liked the time skips changing the setting between the episodes. The sci-fi surreal plot was good, and the “X” was indeed plentiful and often pretty intense. It’s not for the feint of heart or content averse (S assault and torture especially), but I can honestly say I enjoyed the actual plot. The “plot” meanwhile was shocking, but for me, in a good way. Very much had moments of “Oh my god, they actually went there.” in the first few episodes. It sometimes felt like stumbling across those old low poly anime gifs back in the 2000s/2010s. The ones with the laser and the spear and whatnot (If ya know, ya know). All in all, 7/10 might be generous, but I hadn’t watched an anime in awhile, so it had the benefit of re exposing me, and I genuinely enjoyed it.

Loved Berserk definitely deserves the number 1 slot, the recent additions to it I didn’t even bother with..will be going to read source material next. Seen a couple others from the list; Blade of the Immortal and Shigeru etc… Think you should’ve added Goblin Slayer and Redo by Healer… if you haven’t seen em…they don’t disappoint.

I have the game Dragon's Dogma to thank for getting into Berserk. The armor sets and weapons they lifted straight from the series got me curious and I loved it! Was caught a little off guard here and there but adjusted knowing the series is not for the faint of heart. Plus, being curious of the dub got me into their outtakes 😝

Love every one of these! Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne is one of the best series out there and with so few episodes and Black Lagoon is my all time favorite series, period. Wish Lagoon was still going as long as crap like One Piece runs. Shigurei is another that gets missed in a lot of compilation lists of the greats and seriously deserves more hype...folks don't know what they're missing!

Berserk is still an untouchable anime. Nothing is anyway close to that masterpiece, but we really need more animes like it tho. Recently I been loving comedy isekai anime, but these extreme violent animes with "X" is needed. Its honestly so damn hard to get an anime for really mature audiences that doesn't hide everything and make us watch black screens during fights. Came into it as an amusing side-track, a link-surfed diversion, not to take or compare notes, but just to (hopefully) enjoy the presentation. Which I did. I feel compelled to drop a mention of a single title. I have some idea of why, but don't have it in me to write a tome of retrospection (yeah, I came into this one when it came out, in Japan), or introspection, (it's as peculiar today as it was then), but just that it doesn't work dubbed. Iczer One (or Fight! Iczer One). After this video, it struck me that one thing seems like it should have a representative, and feels as though it doesn't. Comedy. For whatever reason[s] a line sprang to mind, and I can't even recall the title of what it's from, only that it somehow underlies the point: "Oh, I want to tell my feelings to Matsumoto-senpai, the man of my dreams, but only when I do so, I transform into an H battle suit."

Each page of the manga of Blade of the Immortal is a masterpiece of art. Then there's many of us who have known Basilisk way before reading Harry Potter's second book. So whenever we heard them say Basilisk in the Harry Potter movies then we thought of the anime first. And Berserk is just awesome. Especially the 90s anime series. But if you could get them in their graphic novel volumes or tomes then the whole epic saga would become clear after a few readings. You will love, hate, laugh, cry, even curse at Guts and Griffith for what they do to each other, themselves, and everyone around them. Plus you get to see what the anime left out for time or continuity. I have to go check out Freezing and see what that is all about. Thanks.

Basilisk and Kimono zume both is good 😊 especially the 2nd animetion style different than usual The old 90s berserk is darker and gritty and I loved it the most.

Fun fact, both Shigurui: Death Frenzy and Blade of the Immortal were both directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki. He also directed Texhnolyze, Steins;Gate and the first season of Terraformars. He's got a very iconic directing style that you'll no doubt pick up on. I can't wait to see what he directs next. Orange was probably the most tame show he's done so far.

Thanks to you I finally know where this anime came from. Look up the most metal scene in anime. It’s RIN, I recognize their faces perfectly, some weird Angel kind of thing in which she kills him while the angel devours her held against a tree while a metal solo is played. Never knew what anime that was from until now!

Studio Eclypse will be doing a fan-made take on Berserk with no CGI and has claimed that they will hold true to the Black Swordsman arc material as much as possible, and by the looks of the sneak peak, the animation looks similar to that of Castlevania. Strap in folks, this might just be the adaptation we've all been waiting for since Golden Age.
