You just helped me nail an interview for a dream job. Can’t thank you enough for this framework. Even though the questions weren’t phrased exactly the same I was able to take the answers I made from your questions and just thread those same talking points into basically one long schpeel that became a bit of a wow factor in a way where it just sounded like I really knew myself and knew the value I had to offer the client. Thank you thank you thank you. No matter what happens, nailing an interview is always a win. 🏆

I’m re-entering the workforce after 5 years and I was in my prior role for 12, so I haven’t interviewed in a minute. I just watched some other video that scared me - advice to use over the top energy and hollow buzzwords. Not at all me. THIS video is exactly what I was looking for - real world, applicable, concrete, valuable KNOWLEDGE. Examples of things I could actually say to someone in an interview without feeling like a fraud. Thank you so much!

I love this video and all 10 examples! Thank you! However, #4 was never listed, therefore the 'BONUS' answer was not actually the 'BONUS' answer; it was part of the 10 examples. Attention to detail is one of my strengths, and I noticed this immediately. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and already look forward to your next piece of long-form content.

Just a thought - maybe if you want a candidate to tell you what value they bring to the company and the role, ask them what value they bring to the company and role. You’re more likely to get the information you’re looking for, and as a bonus, you’re building a more inclusive recruiting process for neurodivergent candidates. And thanks for the video!

This is like trying to translate when women say "I'm fine." I want to know why businesses just don't ask questions directly. We can justify and say "Well, hiring managers are curious how you'll take on an ambiguous question." As you just pointed out, you're wasting time by not getting to the point. Just because an applicant won't be able give a satisfactory answer doesn't mean they have the skills and means to do the job. It's like failing a test but still able to perform.

@tigreytigrey8537
@tigreytigrey8537 Жыл бұрын
Lol ironically That's EXACTLY the point of the question. The point is To weed out the people who don't have critical thinking abilities and those that are not so good with "playing games". As an employer You want someone assertive and confident enough TO ASK for clarification, someone who takes initiative to MAKE SURE they are giving the most accurate answer to the best of their ability. The only way for an employer to get a feel for that ability is to ask an ambiguous question and see if the "employee" takes the lead properly. You want to get rid of those who don't have the critical thinking ability to realize that they cannot properly answer that question without more context and IF THEY DO have the critical thinking ability to notice this, you want someone that is NOT AFRAID to speak up and point out when there is something that is missing or something that prevents them from doing their job properly. (In this case more context is missing). Those who typically "don't like playing games" will not have the patience or care enough to try and speak up in the future when they notice a problem In day to day duties. In short an employer wants to IMMEDIATELY get rid of those who will happily give an answer to a question they themselves don't even understand. This is a red flag that an employee will happily hand out answers to questions that they do not fully understand in the future compromising your operation somewhere along the way. Basically you two lack in one or both of those departments. But NOT TO WORRY! The world needs ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE even the not so bright ones. You just won't get any of the smart people jobs lol.

Thank you for your content. What i've learned most from interviews is when and if I hire I'll do none of the things these employers do. I'll ask clear questions. Not, "tell me about yourself". But rather, tell me about what you've done professionally and how you think it will apply here... Funny how they want you to be a good communicator, yet they're not communicating very clearly themselves. Irony.

So I was listening to your husband talk about your 19 year old neighbor and the success he had with him, and I was wondering how do we get a job with you? Lol I run 30 restaurants currently, and I love my job but there is no training. I’ve learned everything about how to manage my team through KZbin, google, and tons of books. I want to learn how to talk like you do, how to grow our business to the next level and so on and I feel like maybe working for you guys too I can learn those skills I’m missing

what i did: apply to on-campus part time jobs. get experience working in offices/departments. colleges dont expect you to have any experience so fill your resume with high school things like volunteering experience, club experience, etc. then use the college part time office experience on resumes for future jobs.
