It has a 10,020 foot long runway, which is nowhere near one of the worlds longest. There are hundreds of other runways in the world much longer. For example Denver International airport has a 16,000 ft runway and it is only the worlds number 5. I worked on Ascension in the late 1980's btw.

Is it true that you are not allowed in that place to open a cam while on video call? I had a communication with a man he said he is currently working in ascension island and they are not allowed to open a cam while we are doing video call. Seems too good to be true.

Ascension Island has no resourses to accommodate asylum seekers. Food has to be shipped or flown in and there'd be nowhere to house them. They'd have nothing to do, so they would only cause trouble. Ludicrous idea. I live and work here, so I know.

Thank you for your comment. We agree with you. Sounds like an absurd idea - spoiling of another place. The geopolitical reasoning sometimes baffles us...create disruption by bombing places and then cause further disruption to places that are in harmony by moving the people that have been bombed...pleasd like and subscribe.

The thumbnail title suggesting it was a prison ( for one ships officer ) is misleading click bait.
