Tom Hardy's role was splendid. As an example when he said, " Do you feel in charge?", his hand resting on the guy's shoulder was scripted. But the orientation of the hand i.e. upwards, was completely done by himself. If the hand were to be placed normally, the feeling of intimidation was gonna be flat. That's how great actors induce depth into their characters.

That’s one element of the character and movie no one really talked about. Everyone was so fixated on his voice no one spoke how how well Nolan and Hardy captured Bane’s poetic dialog from the comics. In their first encounter, Bane spoke very elegant and poetic. He had a very creative way of phrasing his words and had a lot of long monologues. Bane is an example of great villainy. Poor villainy is one minded, usually driven by power alone. Someone who thinks nothing more of power instead of a moral purpose. Bane has true morality just like Thanos did in Infinity War. Then said, revenge could be a great notion as a villain if the reason is alienation or loss, pain and suffering. The worst thing about creating a perfect piece of art is that it overshadows your past and future work but fortunately that was the exception right there. I'm a Marvel fan but this trilogy easily tops any superhero work ever made imho. Respect!
