Tom, I bet you got calls and/or messages from many people who thought you had omitted one of your barn finds they thought should have been in your top 10. I have to say I have no idea how in the world you were able to single out 10 (or 11) barn finds you had done up until that time because each episode you have done, all of them, have just been great. And you are correct, it wasn't just the vehicle, but more importantly it was the life story attached to the vehicle that has made "The Barn Find Hunter" a world renowned award winning great to the very last moment series. Just when I think I have seen all of your broadcasts, along comes an episode I haven't seen, and it brings a smile to my face and a tug on the heart strings. I have thanked you many times in the past for what you have done and continue to do and I so hope the thank you term has not become mundane, because they are so real, and so meaningful. You have done so much for the car industry and for families across the world. You are so good at what you do, and you give out just enough encouragement to have a person trust you and tell their life story as it relates to their cars (or trucks/buses, anything with wheels on it). I look forward to hearing the next chapter in this wonderful story you are telling in an arena we've all spent time in. Bravo Tom! Bravo!

Poor red, almost made me cry hearing the story about him regretting not being on film. Someone I know is exactly like that and he is like a role model to me, and he is getting old and it’s gonna be a sad day when he passes for me

If it wasn't for these Hoarders. These cars would be lost forever. So God Bless them all! Hagerty does a great job finding these Barn finds. Then showing us there still out there. What great video's. During Covid 19 many of us have worked and stayed home. Getting the chance to escape just for a little while means alot to me! Shawn.

What a cool show. I haven’t missed an episode and don’t intend to. Mr. Cotter, so many of us as automotive enthusiasts owe you a debt for telling the stories we’d probably never see otherwise. Hagerty also deserves a big thanks in recognition for funding such a work of passion for old automotive history. There is so much to be learned about marques long gone and (for many not dreamt of even decades after their demise) the people that collect and cherish them. Thank you for slowing the disappearance of a certain flavor of America from memory.

Some people call them hoarders, and they are to a degree, but if it weren't for this sort of lifestyle we'd lose so much of automotive history. And Some of these cool cars will get restored or serve as templates and inspiration for retro based new projects. So a glass up to the forgotten hoarders, and a thank you from car lovers everywhere! Great episode Mr Cotter.

I literally grew up in the back of a 1967 Ford Country Squire wagon. We drove across country in it twice, moving from coast to coast, as my father was a Navy pilot. But the car I miss most was our yellow 1972 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe. I learned to drive a stick at age 12 in that car and went on many a long drive with my Dad in it. He left us in 1975, but left the car behind. It sat for a year in disrepair and my Mom promised it to whomever could get it running. I was 13 when I got it running... and she gave it to my brother, who had a license. It later had an engine fire due to a lack of maintenance and was lost to me forever. I have continued to look for one over the years, but they are so hard to find.

Excellent episode. As a young guy driving the country my eyes were always scanning behind barns and houses looking for that forgotten gem. Later it drove my wife crazy. As an airmen in the Air Force I depended on many wrecking yards to keep my rides functional and met a lot of really cool elderly gentlemen that helped me with their knowledge and supply of hidden parts. Now that I'm one of those elderly guys this video brought back a lot of fond memories of those times and those old cars that we won't forget. Thanks!

Every persons collection be it cars or vintage cameras (I collect vintage cameras)has a back story filled with memories and marvellous stories. Thank you Tom for a wonderful series and I look forward to the next episode.

Well done whittling it down to 11, mate. Every episode has something personal in it - some story or special car the owner has kept no matter what, only because they loved it and it meant something to them. You have to be a special kind of bloke to get these people to be able to open up to you like they do - and they appreciate your interest. Thanks for recording these memorable moments. They are absolute gold to watch.

Have a house in St. Helena a few blocks from where you saw Russ's 32 Coupe. I was never a "close friend" of Russ but had met and talked with him on a couple of occasions after spotting the cars around his barn. I still have some of his business cards. One shows the coupe, one with a 40 pickup at Bonneville, one with the Buick convertible he had that was used in the Movie "Pearl Harbor". A real nice as well as unique individual. RIP Russell !!! Wow!! Glad I watched to the end. That was quite the touching story !!! RIP Red !!!

As you have said, it's about the story, not the cars or their value. I have no idea how I found myself watching this episode but I love it. I've never wanted an American car and that's not changed, I have a 1987 Jaguar V12 XJS and a 1930 MG M-Type but that doesn't detract from your great story.

I just love this series for the exact reason Tom states - the cars are wonderful, of course - and the thrill of discovering them is cool and all, but it's the STORIES behind the cars that matter. The people and their backgrounds with these cars are tales that need told and preserved. Otherwise, what's going to happen to them all in the future? I hope more young folks get into this end of the hobby, so that all our cars we've lovingly brought back from the brink won't be wasted once we're gone. Thanks as always, Tom! -Ed on the Ridge
