In the previous episode of "Barn Find Hunter," Tom made friends with a Gentleman named, Cliff Wilson who owned a Dodge Polara 500. As usual, Tom asked the question, "Do you know of any old cars around?" Sure enough, Cliff pointed to a location down the road to a man who restores Case Tractors and also has a barn full of cars. The fun doesn't stop there! Tom then hears about a local who has an all-original low-mileage 1984 Buick Grand National that was a press car in Detroit during the early '80s.

Great episode. That first guy was as authentic as it gets. Just a genuine love for those machines and obviously passing it down for two generations.

The first gentleman on this episode reminds me so much of my late grandfather. His mannerisms and directness. So full of knowledge you couldn’t here half his stories or facts if you spent all day with him. Cool old guy!

I am 64 years old. When I was young I knew a lot of older guys who fought in WWII. They were known as the greatest generation. The first guy with the tractors reminds me of the old timers I have known in decades past. Men with great knowledge, experience, passion and impeccable work ethic. Sadly, those guys pass away and take all of their knowledge and experiences to the grave. I hope that tractor guys grandson learned well from his grandpa and appreciates how grandpa saved all those old cars and tractors and keeps the tradition alive.

Sir, that was a great visit with a cool dude! 2nd part, if it was 10k initial vehicle cost plus $100/mo. storage fees could of equalled $306k compounding in a S&P mutual fund since 93'... Top sale on recent Grand Nationals was $30k... this is why I cringe when folks say their cars or collections are their "retirement fund".

Yep, it’s different when it’s in your own shed, but when you’re paying for storage for decades… that’s hard to quantify as an investment.

Since youre in Michigan, you need to go down to Lansing, its a huge car town. They had at least 5 GM plants at one point, home of Oldsmobile, Diamond Reo, Fisher Body and alot of the workers around there were paid decently and collected cars. I'd bet you would find a treasure trove of old cars in that area..

In 1985 I was working for an Olds dealer and just down the road was the Buick GMC showroom and I remember getting the call to take a 1985 Olds 442 down to them and in return I brought back a 1985 Buick Grand National. Not knowing the car at all except seeing that it was a 3.8L on the hood I thought I'd have to really stomp on the gas pedal to get it up to speed with traffic. Yeah...Not so much! Before I knew it, I was doing 75mph grinning like the Cheshire Cat as I blew right past the entrance to the Olds dealer. After about thirty minutes in the car, I return to the Olds dealer and been a super fan ever since. The GNX though........That's where it's at with these Regals. Cheers Tom! Zip~
