GREAT CONTENT AND TIPS!!! I am a beginner myself. One thing I would add is to go out with a bigger board in flat conditions and paddle a couple of times before you go out in to waves of any size. That really helped me last year get stronger at the sport. PLEASE KEEP THIS CONTENT COMING!!!!

I love this content, I’m just starting to get better at stand up paddle board surfing to try something new like paddle boarding has given me some better balance for surfing. And like T-cap said a bigger board is better for learning maneuvers like a bottoms turn.

Also never turn your back to the ocean, even Cassie will periodically look over his shoulder to check if a sets coming while talking to the camera

Straight up what you said about boards. I tried surfing for years on a short board starting out. Took me so much longer to pick it up still Havnt quite. I have ridden maybe 3 waves along the face in my time. but compared to how often I could go or how long I was out in the water that is terrible stats. Learned heaps, never thought I would learn off you from another sport. Your the real life Otto from rocket power (cartoon show) keep shredding and bringing them Tips 🤙🏼🙌🏼

Frogs don't cup their hands, and neither should surfers. Maximize surface area any way you can. But arms deep, legs together and core tight, absolutely!
@CaseyWillax2 жыл бұрын
The cupping give you more water to push off rather than it ripping through your fingers! That’s how we’re maximizing surface area!
@yasu43032 жыл бұрын
@@CaseyWillax fingers together yes, cupped no. I mean think about it, you want your hand to be a paddle. Ever seen a cupped paddle? Can check Rob Case's explanation, or watch Brent Rose's pop up in slow motion and you'll see all the pros keep fingers together, but do not cup. Actually, if you have some down time in NorCal, might be fun to do a crossover vid with Rob. He's good people.
