Just to clearify: this list is not who will beat who in a fight, this is not a most powerful or best in battle (eventough that is in consideration as well), it's considering overall bending skills. Toph creat a whole new sub element never to excist before, pretty much single handedly put her in nr 1, also using her senses to bend and feel stuff like no one else is able to do. Iroh is before her because he has learned from every nation, every bending technique, created a way to counter lightning (almost like creating a new sub bending), and also learned from dragons. So those 2 can do and are doing shit that no one elsea does, therefore the best overall benders in my book

Toph is 1 for me because her whole life is centered around it literally. I don't think I've seen Iroh actually bend to put him at 1 personally he's 2

The absolute audacity to put Azula above her when Katara beat her TWICE, once when she was super charged by the comet, AND given that Azula had been training since birth while Katara had at most a few months of real training and mastered it to the point the master considered her worthy of training the Avatar is crazy

@@j.43 no disrespect here, pretty much every list I have seen has Azula before Katara tho. Is that from that book that Iroh said? Because that is not stated in the series itself, of course Iroh would choose Katara. But there is no way you would have Katara before Toph, right?

@@Chino429 I am not talking about 1v1 battles here, a character can naturally be a better counter against another, as with everything in life. That must not mean that, that person is overall better than the other. Azula is strong all the time in the series and Katara's skills grows exponentially in the series so Katara would eventually be stronger, as I see her having a higher sealing

@@Nerdination48 well the channels that put Azula above Katara are objectively wrong, because they do so doesn't mean it's right, all proper scaling and statements indicate Katara is better. The novels are canon and official materials just like the show, so it not being mentioned in the series doesn't invalidate it, I would have Katara above Toph, that's the point, even without the statement, she's the strongest fighter of the kids after the avatar by record, she has fought stronger opponents than Toph and she's more versatile than Toph, she also has better feats all around and stronger bending skillset than Toph and most benders in Atla. I think you should review her abilities because she's stronger than you're giving her credit for to be honest.

@@Nerdination48 And I think this is the exact reason you might be underrating Katara, Katara wasn't always strong and developed her abilities on screen unlike the others but the fact is that by the end of the series, she was stronger, not just a counter to Azula, but a stronger bender generally, her feats over the seasons and many statements in the comics/novels calling her the best of her element in the world or just even the strongest bender period shows that.

3:33 To Hama’s defense she’s not all wrong, but like Toph said about all of Korra’s enemies (TLOK) she was thrown out of balance and took her ideology too far, if she had used her new found technique to only get back at the bad guys (fire nation soldiers or other bad people) it wouldn’t have been evil necessarily. Like when Katara and Aang destroyed the factory and freed the village (The painted Lady) that was a drastic action for a good cause, but instead Hama thinks like Jet (civilian or not, if they’re fire nation they’re enemies) Vengeance!!!

Bumi better than Azula? Azula 5 tiers higher than Zuko, Bumi is a good bender but I’d say 6 we haven’t seen much of his fights,defending omashu before they captured him would’ve been nice to get know how many people had he had to fight at once to get to know his bending ability.Azula vs Zuko was a close battle the whole time, the only reason he lost it was because he saved Katara. Imo Zuko 7 Bumi 6 Azula 5

@@EjikeJanefrances I have a hard time accepting Toph at 4😅 Katara can only bloodbend during the full moon tho, not really fair to think like that in this scenario. She would be nr 1 and could easy take down Ozai by her own if that was the case. Katara bacame a great bender but Toph is far superior in my opinion

BFR Azula over Katara?? When we saw how Katara beat Azula twice and once in comics, Katara is more powerful, versatile fighting, more abilities, more techniques, styles and movements, better connection with her element, more sub-controls and being able to hold water bodies on Avatars level. Also Katara being considered the best bender in her generation by Iroh and the best waterbender in the world by Pakku. And the fact that Katara used other bendings stances and techniques seeing other benders, she through the show used airbending and earthbending principles in her waterbending, just like Zuko did in the Agni Kai with his firebending.

Katara only won in the finale due to Azula's mental state, and she knows that. During a full moon, yeah, Katara would win easy. Best overall bender during the series, I have Azula before Katara

@Nerdination48 You say that because you are an Azula stan clearly, by seeing how Katara defeated 3 times, that fight really does prove Katara is a better bender than Azula, starting on how Katara BLOCKED ALL AZULA'S ATTACKS, how Katara gave her a haircut and nearly cut her face, "grabs her arm and leg with two water arm things" those water arms were created by herself and evaporated all Azula's fire, Katara grabbing her arm and leg and nearly breaking her in two shows EVERYTHING you need, Zuko saw himself how Katara was going to destroy her sister and saved her ass. Also, seeing how Azula and Zuko NEED TO TEAM UP and ATTACKING AT THE SAME TIME WITH FIRE to beat her proves she is way more superior than Azula.

Pakku is underrated IMO. I get Katara gets stronger and we don't see much from him later on but the dude still held off the army of the fire nation during the seige better than any other bender and you could argue if there was a full moon if he knew about blood bending he could be just as powerful as Katara. But, I'm just saying. Also, I'd switch 1 and 2. I like Iroh but Toph has completely mastered her element like no other bender in history.

Ozai was able to create a larger fireblast than iroh did, and with a lot less set up- he is able to cast lightning so much faster than iroh. Yes iroh has more versatility, but ozai is literally the most powerful firebender. Bumi- if you look at the total amount of rock moved at once, bumi out does toph- sure that isn't everything but in a one on one fight I believe bumi would win, if toph didn't have metal around.

Nah nah nah 1. Ozai 2. Iroh 3. Bumi 4. Jeong jeong 5. Azula 6. Paku 7. Toph 8. Katara 9. Swap guy 10. Zuko Fire is seen as the least versitile but it requiers the most discipline...you guy talk about blood bending like its everything but with enough will force you cant break out of it like katara did....katara doesn't have it in her to control someone like that and she only over powered an old lady....i rank the fire bender highly because they have more mastery and disciplined....every one above toph are just make more smart and think quicker than her everyone under have strong feet but lack training....ozia almost over power aang but of course plot armour kicked in and we all know how that went down....ozai strenght comes from his will power and fear he stricks making his fire bending burn hotter because fire is the bending of energy with in you and he had some strong aura not to mention he lightning bends with ease

This isnt a ranking of who better in the ring against each other nor is it who is better at bending altogether since all elements have some sort of pros and cons compared to each other, but a ranking of benders individually in their own element without considering other elements or how they'd be up to par with other benders of different elements.

And nowhere did the creator say this person would win against someone else in a fight. Be fr Toph would get taken out in seconds against the weakest air or fire bender since they can fly so why is she even 3 on your list?
