I’m still not over the shock I got over survival horror, that was way too good. And also, I get the criticism over maybe the last few code orange albums (even thought I love them), like I get how it’s not wildly unique, but holy shit, Underneath is astounding. The calmer songs with Reba taking leads (even though the title track has a breakdown, the chorus is the most infectious thing ever), and the heavier stuff especially Swallowing the Rabbit Whole is stellar as well. I know it’s not for everyone, but the sound is undeniably unique and it’s wonderful. And as far as hunter gatherer, just amazing. From the wonderful chorus of scream until you wake to the blister age of apes and the weirdness of Child, wonderful. Those and What the Dead Men say by trivium just made my year a joy.

@@brandoncobb4646 honestly now that Titanic is out of the picture,I think her quality has started to dip ever so slightly. I’ve been a fan since she was THATPOPPY,and I don’t believe she would have collected the (no pun intended) cult following that propelled her to where she is nowadays. Unreal to see Spanish top the list. Did not expect it at all and was so stoked. Still too much of a focus on old bands making new music, but the right band won.

For me a favourite album of 2020 was Ja Als Ob, by German band Itchy, it’s their 8th studio album and the first they’ve recorded in the native language, it’s an album I keep returning to as this year has progressed.

MILK TEETH (self titled) on March 27th 2020...great album, if you're into the grunge sound (think Nirvana). I agree on Code Orange's release "Underneath",, absolutely fantastic album. AC/DC's "PWR UP" was a positive surprise, the guys still has it.

Love the video as always man. I just wanted to add that the legendary Blue Oyster Cult surprised us with an album late this year, and it is great. It has all of the fun and atmosphere of classic BOC, but it looks like the guitar players never stopped practicing during their free time because they are better than ever. Who ever thought we'd hear sweep picking from BOC?

Power by Twin Atlantic was slept on this year. Saw them live three days before the UK went into lockdown. Glad I managed to. But Nothing is True has to be my favourite of the year. I hadn't listened to any ES before this year and got into them through this album. They're pretty much all I've listened to since summer.

In all honesty, i was kinda bored by the new puscifer album. At least the new albums from deftones, trivium and spanish love songs were all great and are probably my top 3 this year. Also code orange, while I'm not 100% sold on their sound yet, their newest was definitely a step up in quality and definitely left me looking forward to what they could deliver in the future

At least plenty of people who enjoy rock music can appreciate Deftones' new album. I mean look at how Needle Drop acted when discussing all of it. It was like someone trying so hard to be cool by hating Deftones.

Though Sex, Death, and the Infinite void is a great album, I also highly reccomend their goth punk days from 2014-2017 because some of their best material is in that era, especially in their debut album Eternity, In Your Arms

I searched up Psychosexual on Spotify (because as much as I hate it, hearing Baby on Fire in a previous video got it stuck in my head) and they’ve done a cover of Every Breath You Take by The Police...WHAT?! Because I’m a millennial, Stranger Things got me into that song (I had heard it beforehand though) and all I can think of is Mike and Eleven dancing with Psychosexual playing in the background, fucking hell!

My own personal top 10 looks like: 1) Mordred - Volition EP 2) Body Count - Carnivore 3) Zeal & Ardor - Wake Of A Nation EP 4) Lost Society - No Absolution 5) Avatar - Hunter-Gatherer 6) Hatari - Neyslutrans 7) Deftones - Ohms 8) Testament - Titans Of Creation 9) Static-X - Project Regeneration Vol. 1 10) Svalbard - When I Die, Will I Get Better? Some other interesting albums that I think are worth checking out: 1) Orbit Culture - Nija. For fans of melodeath with some industrial and post-metal tinges 2) Glacier - The Passage Of Time. For those who can't get enough of the more power-metal aspects of NWOTHM 3) LIK - Misanthropic Breed. A throwback to classic Stockholm Death Metal with some tasty grooves thrown in for some variety 4) Amberian Dawn - Looking For You. The logical conclusion of this power metal band flourishing their ABBA influence. The drumming falls a bit flat, but it's got some supremely fun melodies. 5) Frank Klepacki And The Tiberian Sons - Celebrating 25 Years Of Command & Conquer. Based on a live show put on in 2019, this album is part of the soundtrack to Command And Conquer: Remastered, this album has it all for fans of rock, industrial and 90s videogame soundtracks.
