Acrobat armor works great with explosive shotguns. Jump from high point to high point without fear of taking falling damage. The gun becomes a mini MIRV. You are far enough away that you won't take explosive damage, and all missed shots hit and explode right next to your target.

Junk Jet and the Alien Blaster are not unique, they are just incredibly rare. I think 2 or 3 Junk Jets can be acquired and if you have Nuka World you can obtain a second Alien Blaster from the Hubologist side quest.

I'm currently doing a run where I only use legendary items and the only weapon I had at the time was the Big Jim pipe wrench and I was in Vault 95 (to help Cait) and I killed a gunner and he dropped the Wounding Combat Shotgun and at the time I didn't know the effect was per pellet and that it stacks so I thought it was just another weapon that had basically no real upgrade to it, but then I looked it up, and I immediately knew the run was over. 😅😂

I did get a staggering combat shotgun once. While it was expensive on ammo usage, it rendered any enemy into a staggered sitting duck. The damage dropped off after I got to higher levels, making the ammo cost too high... 😅

A semi auto explosive shotgun with a medium-long range scope gives both long ranged and short range devastation. A silencer makes it insane at range. Best weapon in the game.

If you have Nuka World and the Surveillance Creation make yourself a kill box at the Nuka World Red Rocket (their is only one spawn and its easy to enclose) then roll Gunners, later waves on Very Hard will sometimes have 2-3 Legendary Enemies. If your trying to Loot Lock, by save scumming the first time you go to the Institute, and enter the FEV labs one entrance leads directly to the storage area, that almost always spawns a high level Assaultron who can yield things like Explosive Minigun's and Two Shot Gauss Rifles. Alternatively you can go to the National Guard Training Yard, you can save scum at two points, once at each entrance as you progress through both buildings. The first area tends to spawn a Legendary Withered Ghoul who will spawn upwards of Hand Made Rifle's and Plasma weapons. The second area of that location will spawn a Legendary Glowing One which is a good spot to get your hands on a coveted Explosive Minigun. Hope that helps ;D Their's other locations obviously but those are the three main ones I remember, sadly the first one can only been done once I believe as the robots that spawn in the FEV area do not respawn.

Splatter cannon/problem solver are some of the best guns in the whole game in my opinion. On something with really high hp, like a hermit crab, or an enraged fog crawler this gun will just tear them apart.

That Kiloton Radium Rifle is A BEAST. Max the perks, mod it to be automatic with a long-range scope, and you'll almost never need to use a different weapon ever again. Bonuses to radiation damage, explosive damage, commando boosts, plus all the right mods, and you'll chew through everything. ESPECIALLY damaging to human enemies because of the radiation damage. Hell, I happened across a legendary enemy with an Explosive Radium Rifle (essentially the Kiloton Radium Rifle without the name), and I never put it down.

I once found a legendary wounding laser pistol, did 25 point of bleed damage, I added the one mod where is also does burn damage. The thing would shred early game enemies and because of the insane fire rate I was able to kill just about anything. Almost anything but it was awesome to have, I turned it into a rifle and it did more damage and had better range/accuracy but yeah. I did get an exploding shotgun through the far harbor dlc that was also pretty dope. Other than that I haven't had much luck, most of it was just random crap or armor.

My favorite legendary weapon that I used a lot…was the furious ripper. Back when the radio guys quest was glitched out…it had a strange effect on my character that made my guy just drop like the unkillable npc’s and the get back up. Combination of both that glitch and the furious ripper made my guy unstoppable killing force in the glowing sea and helped me level my character up insanely fast with the very hard difficulty.

Got an explosive combat shotgun pretty early on in my very first playthrough, because I was so young it didn’t realize till much later how lucky I was. I guess in hindsight I should have figured it out earlier since it was one of the only weapons I continued to use throughout the entire game.

Probably my favorite weapon in the game is the .38 pipe gun with the Explosive effect. Sure, it doesn't deal as much damage as a shotgun or a minigun, but that can be a good thing, as you can render yourself almost completely immune to its damage at close range with some dense armor. Combined with the extremely plentiful ammo, it makes it hard to need any other gun for most of the game.

The best effect is handsdown the Sentinel's - if you have all 6 armor pieces and a weapon with this effect you get NO damage while standing still. Yes I mean NO damage. You become completely invincible (unless you fall off a building 😁).

I've just found an Instigating Missile Launcher so I'm glad you mentioned it in this video - I've been googling and apparently it's pointless. The ML consists of a small amount for projectile impact damage and then high explosive damage. The missile impact reduces the health, meaning you only get double for that and not the explosion. Is this the case or is this something that has since been fixed? The posts I've been reading were from 2016.

I'm play for the first time, my favorites so far are 10mm auto pistol with bleeding damage and a hunting rifle converted to a 50 cal sniper that shoots two projectiles. The bleeding damage really makes up for the smallish 24 round mag

In my previous playtrough i had a auto pipe pistol with the cripling effect, having this effect on not so good guns makes any gun massively OP. This type of ammo you will find anywhere and mostly you have the most of that kind. Cripling enemies with your pistol and finishing them of with another stronger rifle, you will survive anything at that point.

I am really pleased with the Legendary weapons I have acquired so far that I use regularly and really enjoy. In the order I acquired them: A Two Shot Pipe Revolver I named Rusted Rose. A Wounding Auto Rifle I named Bloodletter. (I have not purchased any FO4 DLC. Yet. So that name was a surprise to hear.) An Explosive Shotgun I named Mutual Destruction. An Instigating Sniper Rifle I named Logic.

Something I wish they would’ve put on the energy weapons in the absence of the explosive effect is what I would call the “volatile.” Legendary effect. Basically on kill the enemy explodes dealing damage proportional to the damage dealt. Which means weapons like flamers and Gatling lasers would be less effective, while lasers and plasmas would be more effective.

While niche the irradiated effect is really good when you have nuclear physicist because you’re going to be doing 100 radiation damage per shot, which means anything that’s not immune to radiation damage is subject to being microwaved by whatever gun it’s on.

The internus Gatling laser in the Nuka World DLC can be very strong in fact it is very strong the only downside is if you accidentally take out all the ammo and the Gatling laser you can never use it again unless you reload a save

Best gun I’ve found so far is an irradiated plasma rifle with the gamma wave upgrade. It does ballistic, energy, fire, and radiation damage so it’s effective against everything

IDK... He didn't take into account the double recoil that also seems to come with that 2-shot effect. Do an accuracy check with a dozen shots from the Overseer's Guardian against the nearest wall. The spread is all over tha place. Then try the same for a combat rifle with the same mods and look at the nice tight cluster. My guess is on a mini gun it would suck.. The 2-shot should drop down 2 spots after the poison and stagger..

The Kiloton is the best gun I have had and its easy to find .45 ammo from stores. I had the Spray and Pray from Cricket 1st and joined Atom just for the gun then left for the commonwealth, im not scared of Mutants anymore Lol. I do have the explosive perk up to 3 so far, its good for this type of gun.

I have picked up two 2shot.50 cal Bolt Action Pipe weapons. One is my sniper. One is my up close pistol. I love them both. They make me aim and take my time lining up that perfect shot. They are also light weight and more effective than the heavy .50 cal rifles I have. I have no idea why they seem more powerful but I am going with it. The legendary .50 Pipe bolt action with rad damage is awesome too.

one time i got an enraging .38 about 15-20 min into a survival mode build (can't even remember what i was trying to play as)... gave up on it after a few hours because it was soooo simple to sit back and vats crits-spaz the toughest enemies into beating the piss out of one another, which got me into locations that were otherwise nigh-impossible at single digit char levels. ended up with so much amazing gear so quickly that it became embarrassment of riches and sucked the fun out of everything.
