Attack helicopters are armed helicopters that serve a number of roles including primarily that of an attack aircraft. They are often termed gunships and offer offensive capability against enemy infantry, fortifications, and enemy vehicles like main battle tanks. Attack helicopters often have a number of redundant systems to make them more survivable as various systems are knocked offline in combat. Attack helicopters are normally armed with machine guns, rockets, and anti-tank missiles.

Apache, hands down. Perfect mix of hi-tech, weapons, electronics, agility and all packed in a menacing package. What is there more to say? All it lacks is a little armor, but you must be slim to be nimble. Sorry, Cobra, Havoc, Gator, Hind, Little Bird and the rest of the disappointed gunships, I still love you. Besides, it all depends on the pilots anyway.

During the South African border war SA troops would encounter Hinds flown by East German pilots. They would shoot flares at the helicopters, hoping the pilot saw that as Stinger missiles. No idea how effective this tactic was.

@@boejiden7093 Nope because it has not gone into full production. Its only in Limited series production. And a lot of its weapons system are yet to be integrated. BTW it is Combat Helicopter worlds highest Service ceiling specially developed for himalayas where Apaches struggle

Stupid comments… 👆🏻 There is no tank, armoured vehicle, helicopter or fighter, that can not be destroyed by a modern weapon. KA-52 is the only helicopter in the world that gives chances to survive to a pilots, after their aircraft is hit.

It's a light attack helicopter It can't match any of these because when you go lightweight you have to sacrifice armour, heavy guns and some other systems. Good thing about lch is range and height it can fly at. Both are almost the best.

US lost 34 Apaches in Iraq and 10 in Afghanistan and that was against military with handful of stone age air defense while only few KA52's have been lost and that is considering that they are against all types of US and EU manpads, best of soviet airdef systems and 24/7 satellite intelligence support. P.S. Including modernized Apache and leaving out modernized MI35 don't make entirely precise top
