I am 73yrs. Old & I've had the Privilege of seeing all of these Players ( CB's) from Deon to Nightrain Lane, but how can You Possibly leave out Herb Adderly of the Green Bay Packers, at least He should be in the top 3. He is The original creator of the name ( Shut Down Corners) & was the only CB who could single Handedly shut down Bullet Bob Hayes, but not only did He Shut down Hayes, He Shut down eveyone He played against because You didnt throw to His side.because if you did He was taking it the other way for 6. He was a complete corner Great Tackler, Great Coverer, & every once in a lifetime you might just get Lucky & beat Him deep. A complete CB in every way. Personally, i think that Darelle Revis was the best defensive back ever. When he was on the Jets they would put him on the best WR or just give him half of the field to protect. He doesn't have the craziest stats but that's only because QB's never threw at him. Revis was so dominate.

@renaldoawes22105 жыл бұрын
@Marcus Mitchell Here he is covering both TO and Rice. Combined they caught 3 passes for just over 30 yards against Green. Every catch they made was a curl and were immediately brought down by Green. Dude was a monster and made them look like normal receivers. Rice had one big play in this game against the second corner, and Owens was shredding while Green was on Rice. No touchdowns either. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXKlg6xjaLF9b9U

@INYB Жыл бұрын
If you add up all the things a corner has to do to win football games I say Blount is the best. Not only was he exceptional at covering and tackling, he was always where he was supposed to be. Which made all his teammates better. Because they trusted he would be there. Not only that. He was devastating at blowing up a lead blocker to allow other teammates to make the tackle.

Dave Brown absolutely has to be on this list. The guy was a terror, at CB! The guy netted 50, of his 62 career INTs, while playing for the Seahawks. Edit: Brown played during two years that were impacted by strikes, and in two of his 11 years with Seattle, he played in ten or less games (once was during the 1982 strike, as only 9 games were played, and during 1981 he played in 10 games). The fact is, Dave Brown is one of the top ten CBs to ever play. Go 'Hawks!

Rod Woodson retired from the game No.1 all time in history with career interception return yardage and interceptions returned for touchdowns. Deion was fun to watch. Mel Blount deserves to be much higher and certainly above Revis. I could make the argument that Blount is the #1 corner in history. He and Rod Woodson are definitely in the top five and possibly even the two best ever. Yes, even better than Deion "I hate playing tackle football" Sanders. I like the inclusion of "Night Train" Lane, even at #2. No defensive back brought the lumber like he did. Not even Ronnie Lott. To think he still has the INT record is ridiculous. My top three would be Blount, Lane, and Rod Woodson, probably in that order.
