The first painting that I did was Bob’s very first one (season 1 episode 1). I found it pretty simple. The only thing that I had trouble with was the tree with the 1 in brush(maybe 2 in I can’t remember). Do you have any videos of painting trees with a 1 in brush?
@jos5ph2 жыл бұрын
Easiest... there are 2 that I can think of... both black canvas and could of been part of this list if it were the 12 easiest... lol... Winter Birch... and... a forest painting using white, black and gray gesso... let it dry and then colorize it.. or not... anyway.. Thanks for all your good videos

After attempting to do one of Bob's paintings on my own, with an awful mess, I looked to see if there were an Bob Ross certified instructor's in my area. Much to my surprise I found one that taught classes a half hr away. The painting we done was #2 on this list "Old Home Place". It was well worth the $60 for the class, which included everything to do a 16" x 20" painting in 5 hrs time. The only thing we needed to bring was paper towels, baby wipes, and the will to learn.

I went straight in to Grandeur of Summer - the 1hr long special as my first ever. It turned out pretty nice but it took me a good 5 to 6 hours!! My favourite to paint was northern lights S8E13 which also had the same cabin from winter mist! I agree with what you said about skipping the cabin I really ended up caking a lot of paint on until eventually I was happy with it (found that bit quite stressful lol whereas the rest of the painting was a joy). My favourite finished painting is probably from following Ocean Sunrise S5E6 which was done by Audrey Golden and I didn't find super complicated. It has a nice feeling to it

99% correct. Paint your canvas with black gesso ( let it dry completely, about 10 to 15 mins ). Then ad a thin layer of liquid clear. Now you can add your base colors like blue or red. Now you can start painting. When you paint on top of these paints. it will pull the base color forward making awesome colors and effects. I hope that helps.

@WildCreates2 жыл бұрын
That was one for consideration when I was making this list. In the video bob says he has coated the canvas with Prussian Blue, Phthalo Green & van dyke brown in the corner. What I don't understand is how hes using the wet on wet technique here. Does he paint a blank canvas with the aforementioned colors and then immediately do the painting? Do I not use liquid black or liquid clear at any time?
@WildCreates2 жыл бұрын
Glad to help - He most likely already added LC to the canvas to save on time for the painting. Just paint your canvas black with gesso ( let it dry completely ). Then add a very thin layer of LC. Then add your base colors ( the aforementioned Blue, Green, Etc ) Now when you paint on top of those... those color will pull forward or give an undertone of that value. I hope that makes sense

Is there a tutorial out there showing exactly how to know how much paint to load into brush? How do these paints NOT muddy into each other every time?

I dont have a dedicated video on that just yet, but could make one if you are interested. I do have a few videos where I do touch on that subject that can help you out ( I will attach them below). They should hold you over til then :) Improving: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3_LeoSJlqp2m6s Common Mistakes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2LSZ3ibfrV8ibc

I have heard that before with some EU people. The only thing I can suggest is using a VPN. Or if you have access to IP channels

Is there any tips for the snow? When I am adding snow to the mountains, it gets mixed with the mountain color. Is there any tip to avoid that?
@WildCreates2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you are not working in the paint correctly. Take a look at the 2 videos below where I give some awesome mountain tips. I am sure they will help a ton: Better Mountains: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4uziJl_dt5so6M Simple Tips: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnvEoGaChpxjpsk

You do yourself a disservice with your innuendo. You have a good message your tips are helpful, your voice is pleasing and your paintings are great. Remember many of your viewers are women. Stop cheapening yourself with the sexual remarks. You don’t need them and we don’t either.

I disagree... its my channel and content. Everyone will have their own taste for what they think is funny or acceptable... If you don't find it to be either, you are welcome to watch someone else. I like to have fun on my channel and with the content I make. Which mean at times it will be in bad taste or to some rub them the wrong way... but that's humor and life.

I want to do the seascape Blue Moon. One of the paints is phthalo green. Is there a substitute for that color that can be used? I am having trouble finding it without ordering it and I want to do now.
@WildCreates2 жыл бұрын
You can leave out the green and just stick with Phatlo blue. It will still work just fine. You can buy these like mini tubes of color from winsor and newton. Just get a Phatlo Green that way.... I think its only like 4 to 6 bucks at most :)
