I am also not big on backup bottles, except for my absolute loves that are discontinued. I have shared the mentality of not wanting to use something I love out of fear of running out, but I am working on changing that way of thinking because I want to use and enjoy what I love while I love it! It would be so sad to hoard a fragrance I love only to come back to use it and find my tastes have change or it just isn't hitting the same. Also, have you ever looked into Oil Perfumery? I love layering their oils with my perfume to extend the life of my scents (especially those really expensive niche ones you want to bathe in!) Just crossed my mind to mention it because that's what I do with my Love by Kilian and Lira by Xerjoff. I actually tried the oil versions first, fell in love, then purchased full bottles of the originals 😆

I totally agree! We should be using what we love today, not "saving it" - and this is just perfume - but it definitely has ripple effects on the rest of our lives. I have NOT looked into oil perfumery yet, but I am very, very interested. ❤️ Thank you so much for mentioning it, Lauren - I also think you highlighted a great point too - they are another great way to "try" out scents before purchasing full bottles (usually more expensive fragrances).

Hi Charlotte, my girlfriend does use D&G. She only wear it on vacation. It is an amazing scent. By the way, I had been watching your video for a long time and always pick fragrance for her. The reason I was not around because I was in the hospital for many many months ago. I had gender reassignment surgery and it was a great decision for me. I really do love musk, always have. Jovan white musk… memories of childhood! I love the musky scent of the Kilian After Sunset too. Just purchased Musc Diamant based on this video!!! I recently just picked up a full bottle of BR540 extrait, such a good one! And I still haven’t picked up Rolling in Love… I need to! Love Alien Fusion and the only one intense… maybe that’s why I don’t feel the need for rouge malachite!! What a great year of fragrances!!

Hey Charlotte. I wanted to share...I'm working on changing my mindset on old patterns in my life. Been working on things deeply over the past few months. One of these things is breaking the foundation and thought patterns in regards to things = love or even identity. Although I have gone through seasons that appear similar to this in my past, this season is even deeper. I've been purging much in my life, spiritually, physically...mentally...along with that I have been unsubscribing to many channel interests I "love" that have become more of an obsession rather than an interest or hobby, I have been allowing these things to take precedent over even working through emotions I should be addressing at times. I no longer want to serve these things and get to a healthier place and mindset in my life. I picked up Alien Fusion but haven’t received it yet. It was a blind buy because I love Mugler and there hasn’t been one that I hated. Glad to hear you love it. I had Pure Musc but decluttered it, I really did love it but I was bored of it. I guess I could have layered like you say you do, but so far I don’t miss it. I totally agree with you on Mon Guerlain and the intense, both wonderful. Great video!

Oh Charlotte, all your beautiful fragrance babies do know you're not playing favourites and you love them all I am sure :D just go and tell all your bottles i your collection that they are all special and VERY LOVELY from time to time and they will understand :D :D :D Brilliant video and some lovely fragrances, I am still very intrigued by Mon Guerlain and hopefully this year I'll get to smell her! I started my fragrance journey as a new hobby blind-buying testers and ebay bottles to distract me through the long, locked down winter of 2020-21, having grown up as a Goth in the 90s and spending considerable time and energy over the years trying to look and smell as "Witchlike" as possible my background was spicy perfumes and lots of heavy chypres lol! And I still love those type of scents - sitting in a cloud of witchy chypre as we speak - but over 2021 I really expanded my portfolio and tastes and found some great more modern bottles. It's been fun and I've made a quick top 10 myself inspired by your challenge! My first "notable" fragrance of the year is the 2019 reformulation of "Cabochard" by Gres. This is an inexpensive and beautiful chypre that I discovered while researching out of interest the great 70s perfumier Bernard Chant, as he turns out to have been responsible for two of the great favourites of my youth - Clinique Aromatics and Cinnabar. Cabochard is another of his creations, but isn't quite as heavy as Aromatics while still very definitely making a statement, and also contains what I find to be the most beautiful soft leather note I've ever smelled in perfumery especially at this pricepoint - I really love Cabochard and I'm wearing it right now. My next two "perfumes of the year" were also historic-inspired buys: I'm a romantic by heart, and when I found out that classic drugstore oriental vanilla, "Emeraude" by Coty and also "Habanita" by Molinard, the perfume that is generally accepted to be the world's first true oriental, were turning 100 years old in 2021 I absolutely had to pick both up. I expected these purchases to be an "occasional wear" out of historic interest rather than a love - but I genuinely think both are stunning and wear them a lot.... "Emeraude" is kind of a vintage-style vanilla in the same vein as Shalimar and cheerful and likable, while Habanita is a beautiful complex blend of smokiness, purple flowers and leather that really surprised me and I reckon will be in my top 5 for life. Later in the year after discovering your channel I got more into sweeter perfumes and gourmands and a few that I now love for life and you definitely got me into are "Girl of Now", "Olympea Intense" (the PERFECT summer fragrance, imo, thank you so much for telling me about her!), Pure XS (love the popcorn note!) and Angel Muse by Mugler (though for someone who likes heavy/dramatic fragrances, I oddly prefer the fruitier EDT over the EDP with this perfume). So thank you for your recommendations and your reviews, I've really enjoyed watching them and making the odd purchase! To round off my top 10 I also fell hard for the weird custardy-vanilla (but herbal) green magic of Mugler's "Aura", the gorgeous woodsy warmth of Stash by Sarah Jessica Parker (SUCH a great spicy perfume for something from a celeb range!), and two fragrances by Swiss Arabian which seem to be my constant "comfort juice" bottles especially during the cooler months - Shaghaf Oudh with it's beautiful praline roses(I far prefer this to any of the Montale roses I've tried), and Casablanca was a real surprise love, with it's full-on caramel apple deliciousness, this one is very much "the scent of Hallowe'en in a bottle" to me and so of course I absolutely love it! PS - sorry for length of post but this list was fun to figure out and I love your makeup in this vid, you look absolutely stunning x

Of these I only own poudrée but I do have samples of a lot of the others 🥰 You gave me the idea to compare the only one intense and rouge malachite- I’m going to do that in the morning! Definitely adding NR poudree to my list,I love these type of scents for bedtime. I'm curious, have u ever tried Kenzo l'elephant, it's so spicy and strong, wondering if or how it compares to lune Feline....also my fav discovery has been guerlain SDV and after receiving samples of angelique noire...totally in love..ordered a 200ml bottle😏. I STILL haven't tried Kenzo L'elephant - I got scared off by all the declutters and negative reviews of it. 😫 I'm also not a huge cloves lover and it looks like it's supposed to be a prominent note. But I have also recently heard good things about it too and I wonder if I should try it out this year. Oof! SDV definitely sounds like a winner, as does Angelique Noir - I would love to have those one day. Will definitely need to sample them this year!

I couldnt agree more with you on the NR Pure Musc being a potent musk, it's stunning!. I also read reviews about people stating they couldn't smell it or found it not long lasting, too light etc. I find it super powerful and long lasting. Fragrantica lists "floral notes" and I can pick up on lilacs in it. Curious if you also detect lilacs? I have also discovered I love musk scents which should'nt be surprising since my first love and signature scent was NR For Her EDT from age 20-28 ish. Kayali Musk 12 has also been another favorite musk discovery, it's dreamy layered with Vanilla 28. Side note, have you tried Memo Paris Lalibela? It's basically NR For Her EDT but with coconut and a tropical vibe, stunning! I would descripe it as a Floral Chypre with coconut. I/m off to Maui next month and will definaltey be bringing it on vacation with me. So thrilled I discovered your videos, Love from YYC !!

You need to see how excited I got when I saw you pulled out Amber Oud Gold Rouge, last night I was sniffing my perfumes and my daughter (4yrs old) was so intrigued after smelling this perfume, she said “mmm so yummy and sweet mummy) so I sprayed 2 sprays on her pj and I smelled it on her this morning so I decided to make it my scent of the day♥️ By the way I got a sample of the “dupe” for Rolling in love from Fragranza and I loveee it, don’t know when I would be able to afford Rolling in love but I may just satisfy that desire with the “dupe” 😁 thanks again Charlotte, ALWAYS a pleasure seeing a new upload from you 💞

I agree with you 100 percent Amber Oud Rouge is one of my favourites too, i am in love with it and it lasts all day long, its amazing and a compliment getter, I didn't add Mugler Fusion, i love it too and the bottle is so pretty. Yes i have bought back up bottles for some of my favourite one of them being Miss Dior 2017 its being discontinued so i have to have it in my collection always.

I also found in 2021 Narciso poudree and alien fusion,I like to mix fusion with twily de hermes or cinabomb by be layered.some others I came across were ylang in gold,guerlain terracotta le parfum,my way intense, memo sintra,amouge blossom love, sushi imperiale, pas ce soir,lavendes trianon, angel muse edt,l interdit rouge and original, feve delicieuse and navitus the embrace to name some!good list you had,love mon guerlain intense the licorice note is more prominent in it for me anyway.

What a great list Charlotte! Every video I get so in love with your collection. I just returned alien fusion. To me it took only a bit to smell just like alien to me (I have a small bottle of alien). I know it’s being discontinued so I really had to think hard before returning it but I knew I wouldn’t use it.

I really want to try the original white Narciso cube now. 🥰 And yes, I totally hear you on Rolling in Love! I definitely think it's worth sampling before buying because of the price point. I haven't heard of any major dislikes, but at that price I think it's worth being a LOVE or at least a very strong like before committing to buying. On a positive note, it is easy to resell in the community - I actually bought my bottle from a fellow perfume collector who was decluttering it. ☺️

I would love to love BR 540 but i feel so much the dentist note that it puts me off completely. I am trying to find a dupe in which i do not feel that dentist note. I need to try Amber Oud Rouge and see what i feel.

I feel you, Diana! Unfortunately I think you will probably still get that « dentist » note in Amber Oud Rouge, so definitely try to sample it first. If you do smell it I would love to know your thoughts and whether you find the unappealing note more or less present than in BR540. ♥️

Fresh cream I was told it smells like baby's puke, I haven't tried it myself so I cant confirm. One of the best ones milky I think look into L'Orchestre Piano Santal

I think fresh cream might be the more milky one - I haven’t smelled it yet, but based on what Julie is saying it sounds like the most milky one (it does have a devoted following and is highly recommended amongst milk-scent lovers). I would have recommended This is Her by Zadig and Voltaire which has the same “baby puke” comments - to me that’s a sign that it’s truly lactonic and you either love or hate it! 😅 I have heard such good things about Piano Santal and I think that’s a great recommendation- I’m eager to try it too.

I'm pretty sure Kissing is discontinued, so if you love it, you did good! Such a lovely lactonic scent, that one. 🥰👌🏼 And yes, it seems people either love or hate musk - so it's good that you discovered you don't like it so that you can avoid it in the future. Hopefully this year got you closer to knowing your true tastes! As for The Only One Intense, I totally wear it year-round, even in the dead of winter, but I do think it probably shines most all throughout Spring as well as Summer evenings. 👌🏼 I'd say try it again then and see if it grows on you - if not, do not worry, some people don't love it and that's ok. 🤗

Rouge Malachite has a vintage scent! It smells like an old lady. Is Alien Fusion more youthful? I bought Rouge Malachite and regretted a lot! 😩

Oh no! That is definitely an expensive regret - I hope you were/are able to sell it. Sometimes tuberose can be interpreted as "old" by some - it might be an indication you don't really like that note. I will try to find my sample of rouge malachite today to refresh my memory of both side by side and let you know. I definitely don't find Alien Fusion smelling vintage but I want to check to see if theres a note or accord in RM that might be doing that for you. ❤️

Loved hearing your choices! I'm very curious about Lune Feline. How would you say it compares to Nishane Ani?

I find Lune Feline to be a deeper more ambery and balsamic/resinous vanilla to me - both warm spicy, though Ani is also fruity and green. Lune Feline is better balanced in my opinion and I find its use of cardamom is more cohesive than in Ani, but I'm biased, since I'm still not totally in love with Ani. I will say Ani does have a very beautiful smooth almost creamy vanilla accord though. 👌🏼 I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for asking! ❤️🥰

I do! Especially for every day. I don’t think they smell alike and I don’t find them redundant so they are both great staples in my collection - but instant crush is more for cold weather to me whereas Amber oud rouge I wear year round.
