Thank you again for mentioning our game, Path of the Midnight Sun! ☀ Super appreciated! I have also bought some of the titles shown here, 2023 is starting off with some great titles!

Early access always seemed like a strange concept to me. Not only are you ruining the experience for yourself, but you’re basically paying to beta test.

I mean, if you're strictly looking at the downside ya but 1) "ruining the experience" is subjective. For some people getting in early, following development closely, getting to experience every update as the game gets closer to it's finished state, and feeling like they are a part of the development is enhancing the experience - for others though it's not, but they can always just choose to wait for full release 2) most indie game developers can't afford to hire people for beta testing, and a lot of times indie developers can't even afford to properly finish their games - early access has changed this for a lot of developers 3) the cost is often cheaper than the final release so saving a bit of money is a plus 4) it beats devs that use crowdfunding before even having a playable beta/alpha state game But if you wanna talk downsides you missed the biggest one: steam doesn't hold devs accountable when they abandon their game in early access so it sits there for nearly a decade, priced as it would be if it was finished, and it's barely in a working alpha state

@@visualsynthetics9882 you can only experience something for the first time once, so if it’s buggy and unfinished that’s what you get. You wouldn’t watch the first rough cut of a film, so why would you want to do the same with a game? It’s just strange.

@@AntLeonardi01 I think that depends on what state they're moving into early access in, and the type of game but to say it's the same thing as watching an early rough cut of a movie isn't the best comparison. For very narrative driven/linear action/adventure games then yes I can see the comparison - but for a physics-based simulator, sandbox, sports, or most multiplayer games for that matter - I think its much different. I think I've gotten more mileage out of some games that I've bought in early access than if I were to have bought them upon final release. Sometimes if I really like a game I will do everything there is to do within the first week and be mostly over it. For early access games I get to go back each time there is an update and re-experience it in a new light and get excited all over again. It's kinda like how dlc gives you reason to return to a game But again, this is subjective and depends on the type of game and if the game is released in a bad state or if it's abandoned in early access. I wouldn't say early access is all bad or all good

Yo Clemmy! Just wanted to let you know that I’m eventually going to start my channel up again. It’s basically going to be a podcast style of thing where we mainly talk about indie games (and I imagine I’ll be doing a lot of complaining, because that’s the only thing I’m any good at). I don’t know if you’ve ever done a podcast, or panel style talk show, but if you’re interested in coming on to bullshit with us, you’ll always be welcome to join. But I should warn you that my laziness prevents me from doing anything in a timely manner, so if I were to aim for a start date of roughly mid March, then you should expect me to contact you around late April of 2024 at the earliest… I wish I was joking, but fingers crossed I turn things around, and start becoming dependable in my late 40’s! 😬

Like that Alice Escaped xylophone: "do-la-do-do-do-la-lada" followed by laser blast. Path of the Midnight Sun has astonishingly good voice-overs. 8-bit adventures 2 has some quality art in that style. Great vivid colours: An Illyiad or Odyssey of epic proportions in 8-bit presentation!

I had high hopes for Alice Escaped when I first saw you mention it in a previous video. Sadly after playing it I was pretty let down, oh well.

@@Big_Dai Even though the game was pretty decent and it was cute. The game play got a little repetitive and some other things were pretty funky about it. I did a review of it on my Channel if you wanna check it out.

Yeah, could you elaborate a bit pls..? Maybe just compare it to a couple of other games you'd say are the same standard..? Or perhaps which other game would you play instead of this one?
