Love my forged wire strippers. Great wire cutter, cuts screws easily, notch in jaws to make wire loops, and no sweat to strip wires. Very versatile. Also like my pliers wrenches, cobra pliers and twin grips. Thinking about getting the Cobolt cutters.

Nice collection, I have all of them except for the forged wire stripper, they are using awg wire size and here in Europe it is not ideal for me. But I have something very similar multifunction electrician pliers. The precistrip16 is one my favorite tool used in panel work. Knipex recently launched the nexstrip wire stripper with integrated ferule crimper. Twingrip is another great tools, I like also their cutix utility knife and the Bix plastic pipe and insulation cutter.

We have similar tastes ! All good choices , I own most of them ! BTW , knipex has a Pincers/ end cutting pliers , with a Hammer Face . Very handy ! I’ve been interested in the Swedish Pipe wrenches !

Can't agree more I have seen the knipex used here in Germany by nearly every electrician and plumber. I now have a habit to look at the tools of real professionals so I buy a tool only once and I get a smile on my face when I use them. And yes the pliers wrench is just epic ! So epic I bought every size of it just to have it even I will never use the biggest one ever.

As a woodworker and sometimes an electrician, I love my cobras, pliers wrench, combination pliers, end cutting pliers and twin grip. For some wire stripping I have cheaper 12 62 180 strippers, and Engineer PAW-21. Maybe that bolt cutters will be a nice addition for my collection. Thanks for the video :)

The mini bolt cutters really aren't all that great. Just my opinion. I bought the pair with all the bells and whistles too.

I agree that the uptake in Knipex purchases is largely due to KZbin publishers who have alerted an otherwise ignorant buying community to their existence. Back in the day, when I started using tools in earnest (1973) I would pride myself in my Klein and Channellock tools. They were and remain good. That said, now that I know better, I have abandoned the brands. The advantages of the Knipex alternatives are too numerous to list. As for Knipex being "expensive," that holds true only for those who don't make money with their tools. Professionals will find Knipex tools are actually the least expensive ones when you take into account factors like speed, accuracy, quality of work performed, durability, and human factors engineering. The absence of such qualities in an alternative tool makes it very expensive over time.

I would add a Knipex Ergostrip and a set of VDE insulated pliers (in different shapes) for an electrician. And a Knipex Bix for a plumber.

Serious comment. Not trolling.. cane here to learn about some new to me knipex tools due to sale at kc. Thanks for that.. BUT…. My klein plier wrench 100% out holds all of my knipex stuff. Including cobra and plier wrench. Think im gonna grab those mini bolt cutters!!

The milwaukee 6 in 1 wire stripper strips wires nicely. I like it better than the knipex wire stripper.

I haven’t used the Milwaukee wire stripper, however I have not had good luck with Milwaukee’s hand tools

I really like them too - I've got the larger "high leverage" 7-in-1 and it has excellent fit, finish, and ergonomics.. but I actually wouldn't mind downsizing them to the 6-in-1. Missing feature is a crimper which I don't really use anyway.

Good video. I’m wondering which model of side cutter I could use to cut 8mm hardwood dowel. I’m a cabinetmaker and occasionally I need to remove a misaligned dowel from a tight space during assembly. Thank you.

I would use a japan precision pull saw to cut it off. If a dowel is not glued, I would use regular combination pliers to pull it out.

What you said about each tool and Knipex in general, was 100% spot on! Has anybody tried both Cobolt cutters versions (one with the round notch and the common one version as seen on this video?) Which one would you suggest for fence work? Does the notch provide better performance on cutting round objects as Knipex claims?

I own both styles. Thinking back, that's probably because when I bought my first the round-notch version had not yet become available. Especially if you are cutting wire, go with the round-notch version, which prevents the work piece from sliding forward.

Some are worthy I suppose but better options for side cutters, combination pliers, tweezer pliers. No Cobra which is like in a league of its own?? Installation pliers deserve to be there but really a poor top 10 of Knipex offerings.

I love that you have an expensive dedicated electricians wire stripping tool but aren't an electrician... Shows you care man😊...about tools. Wife probably didn't hear about that on🤣 If you what to "levet up" you should go for the weidmüller stripax...with terminal connectors...that's differently not a "tell the wife" before the fact. But they are worth every penny...if you are an electrician😁 But honestly you should look into friedrichs pliers as well they make tools on par with knipex.

Knipex themselves even tell you how to pronounce its name. It’s with the hard K in the beginning, then finishing with nipex. He is saying it correctly

The Germans pronounce it with a hard K for the same reason they pronounce Wera as "Vera" and Volkswagen as Folksvagen. Just for fun, here are some American cities whose names are hardly ever pronounced correctly: Los Angeles, Detroit, and Des Moines
