It was a great episode. It reminded me of my mom who’s from Mexico, I was born in America but she already knew english by the time I was born and I was born speaking English not Spanish being this spoiled brat considering she grew up poor and her and my father basically making a better life for me. I was already generous as it was, but this really made me really appreciate my parents and life really in general

Season 1 has a lot to say about today's societal issues, whereas Season 2 is just your average rom-com. Thanksgiving episode and New York I Love You were great, though.
@Crutiancookie7 жыл бұрын
jsson I think more risks were taken with season 2, in the context of structure. Most episodes in season 2 play around with how the structure of a tv show could work, like in first dates, where the women on the dates get switched around mid conversation. And even if you're right that season 1 is more about societal issues, the way those stories are told aren't as bold or innovative as the way the stories are told in season 2

I honestly liked the whole percentage thing on the paper idea. I mean when you're young, you don't have to be 100% sure about your relationship, but when you get older and want to settle down and start a family with someone, you both should be 100% sure you want to be with each other.

One of my favorite scenes was from the episode where Dev's sleeping with the married food critic woman. When the husband catches Dev and starts asking him why he looks familiar, Dev snaps and yells that he cut in line at the ice cream shop and took the last flavor. This makes the husband retort with "SO YOU FUCK MY WIFE?!?!" I laughed my ass off. I even catch myself just saying this line in casual conversation or just to myself.

Honestly, it might be a funny show, but I doubt I'll ever watch it. I was actually planning on watching it though, but happened by chance to see the episode summary for an episode that seemed to be nothing but SJW-propaganda, focusing on "male privilege" if I recall correctly. That was just an instant turnoff for me.
@Ray035957 жыл бұрын
+Dobadobadooo It wasn't too preachy if I remember. It did give an interesting perspective from a females side though. Walking alone home at night really must be scary as shit, no denying that. If I were a female I would definitely have pepper spray in my bag.
@dobadobadooo7 жыл бұрын
+Ray03595 If it wasn't preachy, the episode description did a piss poor job of showing it. Besides, there's a huge difference between pointing out areas where women have it harder, and just flat-out claiming men are inherently privileged, which is what it seems like the show is doing.

Relationships : Francesca x Dev : an interesting developed relationship which focuses on the cultural differences between two characters. They're friends and become more than friends, they realize that dating doesn't work the same way in any country (in Italy, if you are romantic with someone, you don't date other people while in the USA you can see many people at the same time). The couple goes through an epic journey of food, laughters, magic and nice sceneries of both countries. Dev x Rachel : fake orgasms.
@ArkansasGamer5 жыл бұрын
Loved your analysis! Yeah, I think Francesca is way better for Dev than Rachel. It kinda shows this too at the end when they bump into each other and Dev just doesn't even really care anymore for her. He's trying to move onto new and better things
@bifftetherton74952 жыл бұрын
Eh, Francesca and Dev was fluff. Those things you listed are the stuff of young people not actually involved in any substantial, mature relationship. Rachel and Dev nearly had that last bit but Dev really had an unrealistic, romanticized view of love that did them in. But maybe that was something that, to a degree, resonated with Francesca - however short-lived that'd be.
