(most notably authentic Ambergris and Trinidad Cacao) were from Rémi's lab L'Atelier Français des Matières that supplies ingredients for Les Indémodables. In the case of Green Spell, the ingredients are from Atelier Fragranze Milano (Luca Maffei's lab). Happy new year!

mentioning the Beetroot note reminds me of the book by Tom Robins, called Jitterbug perfume. Part of the story was of the main character experimenting with making a perfume, and what she fonund she was missing was beetroot

I ordered the indemodables sample set and vanille havane has made it directly on to my ‘to buy’ list. Although I’m not sure when I will actually take the plunge because it is not at all cheap. I’ve been looking for an interesting vanilla for a while and this one for sure ticks all the boxes without ever becoming cloying or making me smell like a cupcake. Thanks for the tip. Missed the transmission once again... but I'll share my thoughts here: Toy Boy smells like the current version of Creed's Royal Oud (the "non millèsime" version). Royal Oud - that, for me, smells mainly like cedarwood and nutmeg with no oud at all - with a hint (more than a hint, actually) of rose.
