These knives are literally all garbage, you are recommending garbage. Every knife on this list has a handle that is too thin to make a safe and effective push knife. If you want the real deal you are going to have to spend some real money. Here is a real best push knife list for people who are really keeping these for life and death situations rather than for opening letters in style. If you can't afford any of these, you are better off carrying something more secure that isn't a push knife, like a ring dagger. 1. Winkler Knives Push Daggers available at Bladegallery $215 - $240 worth every penny and then some. 2. Mercworx Custos available at knifecenter $275 - $350 depending on the type of handle and steel you want. There is no reason to upgrade the steel fyi, S30V has zero advantage over 154CM for this application. A little pricey for the quality but still an excellent knife. 3. Gingrich Tactical Innovations Custom Push dagger. Hard to find but $175 - $200 when they do pop up and worth it. I found mine at knifecenter. 4. Tops Knives I Stick Push Dagger Avalable at knifecenter $140 - $190 depending on whether it's on sale or not. 5. Tops Knives Grim Ripper. $120 at knifecenter. Make sure you sit this one between your middle and ring finger and wrap your thumb over... don't try to use it between pointer and middle or you will break your hand with the strike.

I am a retired Georgia deputy sheriff. I bought a Cold Steel push dagger when it first came out in the early 80's. Back then it was called the "Terminator" after the movie. I carried it every night for years on third shift. I used it twice, both times when a suspect tried to disarm me of my duty weapon. Both times placing that razor sharp blade to their carotids stopped the attack. Blood was drawn on one occasion but not seriously. When I retired I gave that knife to another deputy and he carried until he died. I am now old and walk with a cane from injuries received on duty (run over by a vehicle). I carry the Safe Maker I everywhere I go along with my 1911.

i am happy that it served you so well, i like push daggers. i decided not to use them because all the ones i sought out (length, blade material, etcetera) were obnoxiously expensive. like the tops grim reaper - it is the perfect size, metal and the grip is excellent. But, it costs around one-hundred-seventy-five-dollars. i prefer 1075 for certain knives like push daggers. it is impossible for me to reason paying that much, like paying upwards and over eight-hundred-dollars for, my favorite, a d2 fixed-blade. Two-years is a good deal of time for prepared use and it seems to have held up to your requirements and needs. Thanks for your testimonial, i'll give the cold steel offering a go. Take care and thanks for having done what some of us would like to do, but recognize isn't possible for us to do as is God's plan for us. And have a good Thanksgiving, too.

The only one I have personal experience with is the Gerber Ghost Strike, but I can attest that it is a good knife that I carry often as a neck knife. It comes sharp out of the box, although it could still benefit from a good run on a razor strop to take it to the next level of sharpness. The sheath lives up to what was said in the advertisement and holds the knife securely in place. There may be better knives on this list, but for the amount of money it costs compared to some of the others, the Gerber Ghost Strike is a solid choice if one is looking for a push dagger/neck knife.

So first thing is legality...most Push knives are double edge which in most jurisdictions are no good. Ie CS safemaker. Push knives are single edge are ok. IE Gerber Ghoststrike SOCP is not a push knife
