That's because Lunar 1's PSP version failed even in Japan it was too easy anyways though the last boss has a instant game over attack one that I TRIED to Block with White Dragon Protect and that game over move STILL works if you manage to use WDP on it anyways.

Final Fantasy Chronicles will always have a special place in my heart. FF IV was my first FF and always my favorite growing up. I remember getting my mind blown hearing that we got the watered down “easy type”. Even though it was just a little bit of extra content, being able to finally play the “j type” version of the game was what teenager me needed in their life. It’s also the first time I played FF V (this was before I figured out emulation - that was another life changer). I would play FF V with the Night at the Roxbury soundtrack on in repeat in the background while grinding. Nothing like late 90s dance music to help you bring Job Points. Looking back, the loading times were horrible, but I don’t remember it being a big deal to me at the time. I put probably well over 100 hours into that compilation.

FF Chronicles or at least the Chrono trigger part and the OTHER collection of FF6 and 5 all 3 games on the PS1 had such long MENU loading times OUT of battles they were practically unplayable FF4 didn't have that problem at all.

Love Chrono trigger and FF2/4 and was excited to get the anime cutscenes of the ps1 version of chrono trigger... but I played through it once and never touched it again because the load times made it unplayable... I would use items and stuff in battles instead of using the menus

FF5 and 6 for that collection on the PS1 FF6 had the same loading times and FF5 was pretty much unplayable due to that when you TRIED to save the game PS1 FF5 only you couldn't even SEE the save files to try to save the game at all that was ONLY fixed if you tried to play the PS1 version of FF5 via PSN and ONLY on the PSP/Vita itself. Playing FF5 via PSN on the PS3 did NOT fix that save glitch at all.

It feels a little odd that square enix hasn't done a single DQ collection. They did cheap ports of 1-3 but they could easily do a 1-4. Or at least 4-6 being it's a a technically trilogy. Anyways I'm so super happy about the saga collection because I was sure that square gave up on the games stateside. Now I can play three of my favorite RPGs from childhood again.

While I'd love DQ7 and 8 3DS to get ported over to the PS4 PS5 Switch after all the DLC Migrant Town dungeons DQ7 3DS version still won't remain on the system itself FOREVER sure you can't USE the E shop on the 3DS any more BUT the actual game's DLC didn't use the 3 DS's E shop to begin with. Its just that the DLC itself requires access to the Internet/Be able TO update the 3 DS itself so eventually those DLC dungeons won't last FOREVER that's why at least it needs a PS4 PS5 Switch port the DQ8 3DS DLC was pretty much WORTHLESS.

I was so stoked for the collection of SaGa/FFL. 2 and 3 were staples of my childhood. The Pixel Remasters have been awesome too! Now could Square bring on a re-release of Tactics?

Those PS1 collections of Final Fantasy were extra special for those of us in Europe. It was the first time we got to play Final Fantasy 1/2/4/5/6. I remember around the time of their release all of 4-8 were a favourite to at least one person in my class.

I love Dot Hack GU last recode , the way Cyberconnect2 remaster one of my favorite trilogies on the ps2 and put it all together in one compilation and even add some much need quality of life features made me soooo happy

About that while CC2 DOES want to port Infection to Quarantine OVER to the PS4 PS5 Switch Namco/Bandai WOULD have to allow that to happen IN the first place I don't see that happening any time soon if ever.

I still have the FF collections for PS1. Those were some of my favorites! It was the first time we got FFV in the US and there was the CGI intro on VI - oh and the anime cutscenes on Chrono Trigger! 🤩

What I wouldn't do for a Sega Saturn RPG Collection for Sega to release on modern consoles, and get those JRPGs currently stranded on that hardware to other platforms (Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragon Force, Albert Odyssey, Shining the Holy Ark, Magic Knight Rayearth, Shining Force 3, etc.). Hell, even a Shining Force 3 Complete Collection with all 3 scenarios finally officially localized I would be front and center for. I'm pretty happy with a lot of those collections you listed on here up on my game shelf as well (Arc the Lad Collection, Growlanser Generations, Grandia 1+2 HD, Collection of Mana, Collection of SaGa (digital only for that one sadly)) - I love it when companies release those, and for the most part usually try to pick them up :).

Phantasy Star 1-4, and a bunch of other great RPGs are on the Sega Genesis collection for PS3/360. Another great RPG collection is the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

I liked the sonic ultimate collection on ps3 because it was the first time i could play shining force 1-2. Plus it had games like phantasy stars, all 3 streets of rage (i know, not rpgs), fatal labyrinth and much much more. All for like 15-25$ canadian. A great bang for the buck

Y'know, I never really thought about DQ XI S as a collection, but it does have two totally different versions of the game. I do wish it had the 3DS version, too. The Collections of Mana and SaGa are just excellent, and a must have for any classic RPG lover. A few I want to give a shout-out to are the Phantasy Star Collection on GBA, which isn't the best versions of those three games per se, but did introduce me to the series, and the Monster World Collection for PS3/360, which included three of the side-scrolling action RPGs in the Wonder Boy series, including a localized version of the excellent Monster World IV for the first time!

I have loved the Mana series since I was very young. I didn't even know what an RPG was when I played Secret of Mana, but I adored that game. As time has gone on, I've been trying to acquire every game in the series that I can, even the bad ones. I was HYPED when Squeenix announced the Trials of Mana remake, and then they revealed Collection of Mana at the same time, and I was floored. I was eating SO good lol.

Honestly, I would love to replay DQXI again but the 3DS version, it just looks so damn charming to me, and the fact that you can go from 2D to 3D on the fly depending on what you use to move the characters (D-Pad or Stick) is amazing, I wish there was a version that also included that "low poly" 3DS version with voice acting added, which means that it's a game that had TRHEE different versions released at roughly the same time (4 if we count the Switch as a different one entirely).

For a more recent collection, I enjoyed Ara Fell & Rise of the Third Power bundle. They are two really fun, retro inspired RPG's with excellent turn based combat. Highly recommended.

I absolutely LOVE the FF4 collection and despite all the other version we've gotten over the years, this one is still my favorite of them all. I'm not sure if this whole "Give 5 or 6 the same treatment" would work that well. I mean I'd like one for 5 too, but you always have to keep in mind that the game were released almost 30 years, that's like 2 generatios ago and I'd hate for them to make a big deal out of it and then not deliver on the same nostalgia that people have for these classics. Just look at games like Last of Us II where half the playerbase absolutely loved it while the rest was the complete opposite and these weren't too far apart, only 7 years I think. Still a lot of time, but not as much as 30 with 4 console generations and VASTLY different people.

This is a longshot, but possible in the future. If they created a Pokemon Ranger collection of all three games with new features, it'd be something I'd buy instantly. Same with the two Alundra games as a collection(I know the second one was bad and considering that the first one was the very first RPG game I've played) Never say never!

First RPG collection I ever got was Final Fantasy Anthology for the Playstation. FF VI was not only my first Final Fantasy, but my first jrpg, and I still consider it my favorite game of all time. There was a quarter auction on facebook in my small city back in 2011 or 2012. I got arc the lad collection for a quarter and another time i got vandal hearts 1 and 2 for the same price. Nobody in my city knew how much those were worth 😂. Or how much I was actually willing to pay for them. 😅

Digimon Cyber Slueth complete on switch is incredible! Has both the original and the sequel Hacker's Memory all on one cartridge. It has some performance issues but it's still an awesome experience! Much better than Pokemon games imo.

As a European, it always makes me chucked to hear an American complaining about Tales games not being released. We got nothing until the Symphonia duology, and the butchered GBA Phantasia. It wasn't until the PS3 era that we started getting a few re-releases like Graces-R, and only really from Xillia onwards that we started regularly getting the new games.

Final Fantasy Chronicles was my first introduction into Final Fantasy and I only got it because it came with Chrono Trigger. At the time I thought the series was overrated & if it hadn't been for 4 being packed like this I may never have played the series at all. I love that Mana collection, preordered that as soon as it was announced. Also the sprite based DQ11 wasn't new, it was the 3DS version that they never F#$%ing released in English. I was really looking forward to playing that on my 3DS, especially after they had finally released the 3DS versions of 7 & 8 in English after so many years, but they never did and I was pissed cause I loved that old sprite style.

The FF1 to 6 Pixel versions are based on the NES and SNES games so NONE of the GBA/PSP dungeons are IN any of them that really NEEDS to change for at least FF4 and FF6.

Langrisser 1 and 2 was a collection back around the same time the ff games were collected on ps1, but only in Japan.

We got a separate remake. This was on ps1 and Saturn. The switch version had lots of updates and QoL, but these were more straight remakes.)

You didn't mention that 358/2 days and Recoded aren't playable. It's just all the cutscenes. If you want to play those you'll need a Nintendo DS or a DS emulator. Also FF Saga series is on Android.

Oh man I must disagree with ya on the Tales of the symphonia chronicles being the definitive way to play it, I'm sorry but the original Gamecube release is the best version yet. I understand they include the PS2 version because it has extra content but the quality is not the same as the gamecube original, and worse the original release runs at 60fps with no drops, the PS3 and the other ports perform worse, not to mention how the overworld map is so zoomed in, And a long list follows... You either didn't play the original or just forgot how it compares to the newer releases. I still agree the PS3 version is still nice since it has both games in HD, but that's just it.

First off, Tower of Fantasy came out on PS4 not even a week ago, so there's another option to play this sponsored game ;) Second, Dragon Quest 11 S is NOT a collection, it's just 1 PS4/Switch/PC game with some leftovers from the 3DS version and some additional content Lastly, I'd substitute DQ 11 S for either the .hack//GU collection or ANY Sega Genesis collection that included the Shining Force and Phantasy Star games as well as Beyond Oasis and other RPGs they've made
