I'll echo others wanting 'The Expanse' to be rated higher. There's a bunch of real quality shows on this list that have only had one season so far. So a show that had top notch quality, and finished with at least a stab at an actual ending, seems to suggest it should rank higher. Add in the fact that fans saved the show from an earlier demise, and got another network to buy it and give it an ending of sorts; the Expanse is fantastic.

I've been struggling to continue watching Foundation, but I can't wait for the next 3-Body Problem. Actually, I can wait, because I need to read the second book before it comes out.

Andor is better, it has the one strike against it of being a prequel to a character we know where it ends. Mandalorian at least felt a bit fresh even though it was ripping off Lone Wolf and Cub.

So glad to see Dark was #1. I admit I haven't seen most on this list, but without a doubt, the story in Dark is so well written that you actually have to concentrate. I am a sucker for a good storyline plus I am a time travel junkie so this hit on all that i enjoy. This is not a casual watch you must totally immerse yourself in it.

Nah, I think Dark being nr 1 is correct. Not too long, actually makes you think, takes you far, far away and leaves you emotionally touched. Just the sophistication of Dark alone, blows them all out of the water. The fact that Dark has higher ratings across the board says it all.

Agree that For All Mankind belongs on this list. Have been pleasantly surprised by each season. Looking forward to the next season. The Expanse is definitely number 1 ! Of any of these shows, it's the by far the show that is easy to watch again like re-reading a great book. Severence was slow at first, but it's worth having the patience to continue to watch, it gets better and better. Dark should definitely NOT be number 1, while it deserves to be on this list more than some others, but it can be a real chore to watch. Like most time travel, it really makes very little sense in the end.

Thank you for your time. The Expanse was fantastic. Waiting for season 2 for The Last of Us. West World started fantastically, started season 3, and never finished. Severance was very good. Great cast. 3 Body Problem was good. Silo was great, second season coming. Foundation was great. Mandalorian was very good, but Disney sucks. Fall Out was very good. Dark was fantastic, so great.

Dark really is the best. There's some really good ones here, but Dark forces you to think so much about the fundamentals of life and time that it's interactive. You feel profoundly affected by it mentally and emotionally. It evokes awe. A bit of work to get into, and it can be confusing unintentionally in that there are four German families - all white and regular-looking, and then their young and old versions, and then their ancestors and descendants - so getting everyone sorted out can be some work. Not for the lazy or stupid for sure. And they had the good sense to stop when the story was done. The ending was close to perfect. Possibly the best show ever.

I have soft spot for the first 3 seasons because that was all there was for a while till Amazon picked it up, and it was very easy to rewatch them. Season 4 was great but being only 10 episodes instead of 13, binging it in weekend went way too fast. lol. loved Season 5, and Season 6 was great but you knew some stories were going to be left hanging so it was bittersweet.

Caveat: there are elements of the Foundation TV show not in the books, the 'genetic dynasty' for example. I've read the books including way back the 'Caves of Steel' - those who know, know. The books are very talky, because Asimov wrote them as short stories, plus there are technological & societal changes that Asimov could not imagine. However imho I'd watch Foundation TV series before reading the books. Enjoy

The Chinese series was what I watched and it was good, but slow in parts, perhaps I found it irritating that the scientist took so long to catch on to the 3-body problem, as I have a background in nonlinear dynamics and it was discussing basically what was late 19th century mathematics. The original Foundation triology was part of my childhood. I think you are actually better off NOT reading the books because, one Asimov has pretty much zero character development, more about ideas and history, it was originally written to sell in serial form in magazines for young boys, the market audience. I remember the books being fantastic but I was young and haven't re-read them. The show has to develop character and story so it deviates a LOT from the books. Better to enjoy it as it is. I find myself getting irritated by some of the changes but to be honest, something had to be done to dramatize it for film.

All the listed shows are probably worth viewing, but which of them do you seriously think are worth seeing again at all, let alone years from now? As a fan of the books, I really don't like the Foundation series. I wish they had stayed true to Asimov. As to which shows are re-watchable: The Expanse, Silo, The Mandalorian (1st season) The Last of Us. I haven't seen some of the shows. With 2 years between seasons in most cases, I will rewatch the seasons of my favorites to prepare for returns. I don't like that it's taking so long to get new season, but it is what it is. Severance bored me. Westworld was a confusing mess. Not on the list, but I liked it a lot (until the end of season 2): House of the Dragon.

what is worthy here is the comments related to the list, to see more suggestions, I myself enjoy sci fi series and I sometimes forget what I have seen my favorites from the list on the video are - Dark (all 3 seasons - no doubt why they call it mindfack) - Foundation (both seasons - haven't read the books) - Westworld (2 first seasons, I like most) - 3 Body Problem (1 season so far, NETFLIX) Missing from the list are - Raised by the Wolves (1st season is better than second) - DarK Matter (1 season so far) - Three Body Problem (Chinese Version, has too slow pacing till episode 20, more mystery, and a brilliand scene with the billiard at one of the first episodes) - Altered Carbon (only 1st season is worth remembering) Finally I have good memories from: - Peripheral (1 season only) Reading other's comments, I shall give ''Expanse'' another try, as I had seen the 7 first episodes and could hardly understand what was going on, or it was too slow for me, I cannot remember why I stopped it in the first place. Only the Emperors plotline is great, and it's the only part which is not an adaptation from the books. The rest of the show oscillates between, mediocre, pure garbage and goofy scenes

Having read the last 3 books, I think it makes sense that they left it at 6 seasons. It was a natural stopping point. I'm not terribly happy with some of the decisions the authors made with certain characters in the final 3 books which take place 30 years later. I think the TV audience would not have been happy either. It would have been better just to leave their stories after book 6 and bring in new main characters for the last 3 books to do what they wanted with them. The Universe is big enough for that.

@@CraigHocker Agreed. There are time gaps in the books where Ty and Dan could create whole new stories in the Expanse universe. The crew spend years doing odd jobs, primarily for the Belters but also for the UN. For example, there is a recent video game dedicated to Drummer and her crew.

The HBO/MAX Series WESTWORLD is very underrated because it is a deeply psychological/philosophical, sci-fi apocalyptic thriller that doesn’t dumb itself down to cater to a broader tv audience. It will be a sci-classic for generations.

Dark and Expanse are both brilliant, for very different reasons. I felt Foundation strayed so too far from the source material, it ended up just a CGI show pony.....looks good, but that's it.

Dark is probably the smartest television show to come along since the first season of Black Mirror. I was crushed to find that 1899 wasn't being continued, seemed like much of the same creative team was there, and the first season was incredible.

Foundation has a great first season. The second season has some weaker episodes, but I admit it's pretty hard to adapt Asimov's original trilogy to a TV series. For his later novels it might be easier.

SENSE8 on Netflix is phenomenal, They live classic film as is Soylent green. My fave sci fi's; The Lost Room, Dark Angel, The Crossing, The Event, Heroes, Fringe, Travellers, Flash forward, Torchwood, Eerie Indiana (classic) Alex mack (80's babies will know), The outer limits, Flash forward, Humans, Helix, Star Crossed, Incorporated, Travellers, Chambers, Devs, The OA, The Crossing, Unlisted, The One, Kyle xy, The Messengers, Torchwood, in the night sky, 3%, nobody's looking, peripheral, and severance.

As a fan of Azimov's original trilogy, I would have moved Foundation much further down the list, possibly having it fall of the bottom. It touches on the general premise of psychohistory, but diverts uneccessarily from the pages...I say uneccessarily, but really all of the divergences serve as opportunities for flashy special effects. This is readily apparent to viewers familiar with the novels. I would say Foundation succeeds only if you are not familiar with Azimov's text (which includes no generational clones or space elevators). But the CGI IS pretty, for those who care about appearances. Conversely, The Expanse is far too far down on the list. It is blessed with having the authors of the books as its showrunners, not leaving room for the pratfalls of Foundation. Silo is absolutely brilliant, thanks in no small part to Rebecca Ferguson's stunning performance. I am bitting at the bit for season 2. I feel similarly about Severance which becomes more and more disturbing with each episode. Can't wait to discover the point of the numbers and confessions. (are they killing people ?) I haven't watched Dark yet, so I cannot comment on whether I agree that it deserves its 1st place finish, but if I would have picked MY top spot entry it would have to be Ridley Scott's "Raised by Wolves" - the most unworthy series cancellation since Farscape. They ended it just as it had become absolutely addictive. It was disappointing not to see it even get an honourable mention in your list.

Asimov's Foundation, which appears as a collection of short stories to me bound by the psychohistory arc, would never work as a tv series.

@@olafschluter706 The original trilogy could have worked fine if adapted as an anthology series with psychohistory as the binding thread over it's multi-millennial arc. I believe the very nature of the novels lend themselves to the episodic nature of television - albeit, it less friendly to television's need for a series-long character threads. (Then again, Ray Bradbury's 'The Martian Chronicles' was also episodic in nature and television REALLY screwed that one up.)

Expanse should’ve been number 1. I understand people finding the mid seasons a bit slow or boring but it all ties in well and culminated in the final season being the best of all. Science & tech is the most realistic of any show. The most intense & mind blowing spaceship battle scenes with a beautiful heart pumping score/soundtrack to match from Clinton Shorter. Highly recommended if you haven’t watched.
