Never understood the hate behind the POTF figures... I mean sure, there were some bulky ones (WWE Lando anyone? :P ) but the POTF figures were the best TOYS. They were sturdy, well-detailed (Boba Fett, Sandtrooper, Bossk, Momaw Nadon...) and affordable enough for kids to play with. Give a kid a Black Series action figure and it will be broken within two days!

Another thing people hate are the first wave of Deluxe figures which came with ridicilous accessories (Han and Boba Fett's giant backpacks), but like you said, they were great toys. Movie accurate or no, you did get an impressive amount of plastic tat for your money and they were definitely the kind of toys that only could've come out in the 90's, and I for one love Boba Fett's giant rocket backpack and the absurd blurb they give it on the cardback. I still need to pick up Han and Luke, which reminds me, the Desert Skiff of the latter actually got recycled for the Clone Wars toyline so it can't be all that bad.

My favorite was always the Darth Vader with removable helmet. Glad you mentioned it. It's very well detailed and very good articulation. Also, the Admiral Motti figure was nice too. I like how you can get through the whole video in one take. lol

Bossk has a great sculpt, clean paintjob, and cool guns. Totally deserving the #1 spot. Bespin Luke, Vader (removable helmet), Sandtrooper, Boba Fett, 4-LOM, and C-3PO (with removable limbs) are also among my favorites.

Happy to see B'omarr Monk made the list. Easily one of the best figures from the POTF2 line, and one of my personal favorites. Just a few Honorable Mentions: TIE Pilot, Garindan, Death Star Droid and Pote Snitkin.

I don't know why people still associate POTF2 with the steroid look. They got over it pretty quick and the amount of relatively normal sized figures far outweighs the number of jacked up ones. By the end they had really found their footing. The sculpts were pretty good and the pain apps were excellent, far better than what Hasbro is doing now. Also they were durable as all hell. These were the first figures I got and if I look back at my childhood collection now they are still in the best shape. I put them through hell and they still have all their limbs and no loose joints.

I dont mind the muscular sculpts. I maintain that POTF2 to this day are the best start wars toys for kids. They are durable, look great, and the over sized accessories mean they are less likely to be lost or broken.

2-1b is probably one of my favorite POTF2 figures, because he's very solid and there hasn't been another one since, so the figure is not technically outdated (I don't own the figure, although I do plan on buying him since he's dirt cheap).

Interesting video I myself don’t understand the hate about potf2 figs cuz I recall lots of collectors went crazy buying lots of figs one to keep in package the other loose… Sure with time when the other figs who followed they had changed a lot but still I remember the craze when those figs came out

I still have tons of these POTF 2 figures since my parents sold off all my vintage figures, and I swore never to let that happen again. My favorite figure from this line is the Gamorrean Guard and the Princess Leia w' Cloth robe that came w' R2D2 in a 2 pack.

I was born in '77, so I came up with all the original figures. I only recently started collecting them when my little cousin gave me all of his figures. There're many POTF figures in the mix. I do think the big, bulky, muscle bond figures look like garbage, but many of the others look great!

Pote Snitkin is, to me, an enigma wrapped in irony.... have you truly seen him on screen? ever? He is an existential quandary! if even a split second frame existed, his movie image would be on the package!! Intead, the image on the pkg is labeled as "Pote Snitkin's view"... his VIEW! i hope you or someone can correct me, and actually point Pote out... or share in my ... mad?... desire for Pote proof!

Fun oola fact. For the remastered film the actress was asked back. The team doing the scene hoped to use computer tech to make her look as supple and fit as in the original some decade and a bit on. She was actually in better shape than she was in the original. And I for one am glad the original nipple reveal slip stayed in the movie

Picked up a carded lot on eBay with several great figures. Finally got the Ewok set; which I love, and a new contender for my favourite is the Gamorrean Guard. Also included was Panda Baba, The Emporer, Endor Han, Biggs, Rancor Keeper, and Admiral Ackbar. Also got two of the Shadows of the Empire sets with Vader vs Xizor, and Boba Fett vs IG-88. The Fett is an Empire repaint in that set which is neat.

I remember when the first line started. I was at my first convention ( I was around 8 yrs old) and saw a Chewie and Stormtrooper and bought them. It was amazing. The only other Star Wars figure I had was a beat up Admiral Ackbar I found in a junk drawer in kindergarten. Before that I would just pretend some of my space Lego men were Boba Fett and Stormtroopers. I never noticed they were roided out until the only adult I knew that liked Star Wars pointed it out. Imagination just made me omit it I suppose. It kinda ruined them for me after that, but I still bought a ton of them and had many hours of adventures starring some of my favorite characters.

I have 3 things to say here #1 potf2 in my mind sits just a hair above the vintage line for the sheer fact that being born in 81 there was a LOT of figures I never even saw on shelves so potf2 was my first chance to actually own a lot of the pre rotj figures, and the fact that it brought Star Wars figures back after what felt like ages with nothing..even if really it was only a few years. #2 continuing our I pronounce it like this convo I say Kayb in Muftak and Kabe #3 love love love the "time he flew a star cruiser" joke.

the Muftak and Kabe figures probably are my favorite of the line. the Lak Sivrak is the figure that most infuriates me from the line, because it is not really a great figure the headsculpt itself is fine but the over all figures i think is lame is a lame pose. and it bothers me because it IS the only version of the figure, and Lucas apparently hated him so much he wanted to remove him all together, and he was probably my favorite Cantina alien when i was a kid and i have always wanted a good figure of him. it didnt all stop at Power Of The Force 2 though, they continued making figures that actually had decent sculpts but were still ruined with crappy action poses and very limited articulation. there are several Cantina aliens that have only been made once and are ruined by their permanent poses.

I would also add Pote Snitkin to the list of figures that still hold up really well by today's standards. However, you put Bossk as #1 so you get no complaints from me. I had the vintage Bossk as a kid and I hated the figure for the reasons you mentioned, so when the POTF2 Bossk came out it quickly became my favorite figure in the line.

Pote had a fantastic sculpt, although the side-vented plastic robe overlay that he and so many other 90's characters had was a bit annoying. To me, the PotF2 Ree-Yees still holds up quite well today also; his head sculpt is far superior to the 2014 Black Series update. Although Bossk has since been eclipsed by the outstanding VC version, I agree that he was unquestionably one of the very best figures that came out of PotF2.

No idea why this line is hated. Yea, like, I see the most common complaints about the bulky sculps but like....so? It's fun and toyetic and there is more of an attention to likeness than before. Not every figure is a homerun, but its an incredibly fun line of toys imo. Like, let go of the old school Kenner deification would you? Those toys are classics and important to the history of not only toy and toy collecting, but SW in general. But that doesn't mean they're all great toys in and of themselves. Mainly, like everything Star Wars, it's just whiny and perpetually arrested manchildren crying about how the new thing is terrible and only the old thing is good.

The real hate for this line stems from the first wave being so band and thats the main characters. As great as characters that are in 17 frames look the hate is gonna linger if your first release Luke and Vader look like He-man figures doing Star Wars cos-play. The huge problem with the line that all the people who say "well look how bad the original kenner figures look so these aren't bad by comparison don't get"....THE PACKAGING FOR THESE WAS AWFUL AND BORING AS HELL. The way back figures all featured large images from the movies so it was the packaging that sold them more than the figure designs. The Vader image on the top left of each package looked like a joke piece of computer art...not like a dark, evil threat to the galaxy. The image of each character on the package was smaller than the figure itself....very underwhelming...you notice the figure before anything else.

I never understood the hate for power of the force two. for the most part the beefy figures were only in the short lived red backed series. every figure afyer that had a green backing, and proper proportioning. that being said I have 70 power of the force figures
