Dude, I grew up in the day where MechanicalChaser was the most sought after 4 star normal monster because it had an 1850ATK and everyone was running 1800Atk monsters at the time or Jurai Gumo (and Gumo was used mostly as a wall rather than attacking).

i also remember people using nin-ken dog in fire fist for a while so you could get access to lightning chidori, which was pretty cool. and with labradorite dragon, people occasionally used mathematician before it was limited to send carboneddon to grave, which could then banish from grave to summon labradorite from the deck, which was also fun to combo with something like malicious or level eater for a variety of plays. (also saw it paired with jewels of the valiant, which let you send a monster from deck to grave when a monster in grave was banished, so long as it was a different attribute. so banishing carboneddon let you dump level eater, malicious, and a bunch of other cards you could use to combo with it, which is cool as hell)

Red-Eyes and Dark Magician support is nowhere near as good as Blue-Eyes support and haven't really impacted the meta much like blue-Eyes has.

TheSebto360 One thing that is worth considering is that, while the Red-Eyes support may be a bit less efficient than Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes also has the ability to pair with various types of cards. You can pair it with archfiend since lots of the fusion cards require them, you can pair it with zombies if you're running Red-Eyes Zombie. Also, going back to the Red-Eyes support, you can't deny that the Black Stone of Legend is better than the White Stone of Legend.

It is so funny and interesting to watch this videos. I quit playing years ago. I never played competitively, just a lot with friends and some guys in the neighbourhood. Back then the best normal monsters (as far as i knew it back then) were Gemini-Elf, Vorse Raider and Luster Dragon. I was actually pretty proud to have Gemini-Elf, Luster Dragon and also a Spear-Dragon in my deck It also wasn't uncommon for us to use some Blue-Eyes in our decks. Since i owned the water-structure-deck my best card was the Ocean Dragon Lord. One kid had a Chaos Emperor Dragon, but we refused to play with him until he promised not to use it.

Holactie is just a strictly worse exodia - harder to summon, harder to perform consistently and not worth the effort for something you could do far easier.. Unless there's some hyper consistent 100% Holactie FTK deck. Victory dragon has an awkward summon condition and must be the card attacking to win the match. You can still scoop if it would attack for game - Making it kind of like a free win should the stars align, but it's so much easier to stop than exodia or even holactie because it can be removed while on the field due to it's lack of protection. TL:DR: Both are trash and I'm not sure why they even considered them.

dzeeff with the eye of t and allthat support alongnwith dm circle and eternal soul and magician nav. I have won tournaments. Only problems i have had were against trickstars, goukis and timelords, but i just turned dm deck into a banishing deck / burner deck with datk eradicator warlock and spellbook spell cards in the deck.

I remember reading in the rules that generally Normal Monsters have higher attack and defense than Effect Monsters to "balance" them out, but I can't think of a Normal Monster that has higher than 3000 attack off the top of my head. I feel like they tossed that concept out a long time ago (aside from level 4 1900 attackers) which I think is a shame because it'd make Normal Monsters slightly less useless, not by much cause of no card advantage gain without battling, but STILL. Actually yes, Metal Armored bug for the old demise OTK deck. Advanced ritual art for demise either sending bug to revive via reborn then megamorph for game, or send 2 insect knights and doom dozer for same effect.

#1 has to be Harpie's Brother/ Sky Scout. That card's treated me well as there simply arent as many good winged beast wind normal monsters. Most good low level normal monsters are dark or warrior etc, but not a winged beast. For example, plain vanilla harpie lady sits at a measly 1350 or so attack, so it's not very good to use cards that combo with winged beasts if your only good winged beasts are a few harpie effect cards and no others that are as strong. I rate it more on lack of decent normal cards of the same attribute and type, meaning it is one of the, if not outright the best normal card for a harpie deck. And as a bonus, the name before "Sky Scout" used to be "Harpie's Brother", so if you own an old copy it just feels aesthetically nice (even if it doesnt count as a harpie :p)

Blue eyes white dragon is the most iconic card and to this day is the strongest normal monster out there and is only 6th place I honesty don't think you know how to rate cards I've been a fan of blue eyes since the beginning when he first appeared in the anime and the release of the og yugi and kiaba decks and always found ways to use blue eyes and now there is so much support for him
