There are all kinds of things they could have done, but that wasn't even funny. At worst its outright mocking Steve Irwin and trying to troll his death. Seasons 9 and 10 generated tons of controversies. The Scientology fiasco, Isaac Hayes leaving, Bloody Mary, the M******* controversy, the Steve Irwin joke. It's like after all that, Trey and Matt went, "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" And they made Stanley's Cup! Stan must coach his Pee-Wee Hockey Team to win a big game...or one of his teammates will die of cancer. These adorable little kids end up playing an adult professional team...who beat the living sh*t out of them and win. The kids hate Stan, and their teammate dies in the hospital saying, "No hope..." And the cherry on top of the sh*t sandwich? It has TWO Steve Irwin jokes in back-to-back scenes. I'll always dislike this episode. But I can at least respect it if Trey and Matt were trying to shock those who got offended by the other stuff in Seasons 9 and 10.

Lmfao yeah like, tbh that was essentially why I recall people listening to "Banned version" type of songs where literlalu anything that could be a even possible.. or once was seen as a dig.. was used and people even began to throw out all there se rets so that at minimum at worst all that could happen was hey everyone ALREADY heard xyz so siddenly if it is a freestyle hiphop contest.. theres nothing suddenly useful for regarding digs on eachother/jabbing at weaknesses.. because one already would jab at themsselves.. But for officially being legally allowed to without a lawsuit etc, many songs over time and even in the day were only on the demo disc/Demo of a Demo to retail draft cd.. so like the source awards or given by being tossed to crowds if one was lucky enougj to catch one as they tossed them off stage before their turn was over in an underground music scene.. so us kids in the 2010s for middle/early hs would intentionally dub and share the non radio edit or even "regular/dirty" version of songs but the banned version of songs from discs like "The source awards 01" or whatever or a Dmx demo cd... woth a song titled "I shot ya" or similar "retro" or resurfacing stuff. And then for using school computers to watch and share stuff like pilfered regular music videos and raunchy tv shows adult comedy cartoons all included and even stuff like squid game etc.. whatever was the trending hot controversy or banned book counterpart of banned books...and then usb sticks among my peers which they would download onto their phones and often yeah looking back they got scammed/malware pretty much freuqeuntly so meh.. I never missed out on much in that sense lol.. Hell hs was where I heard about even some facepalm or cringey but raunchy things like.. a movie about.. food lmao.. though that at least was a cartoon- but yeah that was also when aqthf likely was still airing new seasons and then of course I discovered/was told of Robot Chicken.. Steve Irwin's death shouldn't be something that anyone, not even South Park would mock and get away with it.

@slowpokegarcia63428 ай бұрын
So i got back from him and he tells me he's not sure on the artistic part but he did elaborate on the "educational" aspect and that's probably on how I got the "artistic" idea from. He went so far as to show an example of a float with trump and a flag cut as a swastika and said it's okay bc it's considered educational so i think i got confused bc the educational clause is pretty broad. He did mention they're easing up on video games lately, giving the release of the wolfenstein games as an example.

Play stick of truth, they basically walked back on it ever since. However the episode was simply an at the time reaction based on what they, and the general public, knew about Hayes' departure. The knowledge he didn't actually willingly leave because he was offended over his religion's depiction, and that in fact scientologists took advantage of his condition and lied about his stance, is far more recent information so I'm not shocked that's how they handled it at the time. Its sucks Hayes was in that group, but Matt & Trey just thought he turned hypocrite and it soiled their feelings on chef. In the end they still understood the sentiment the character was beloved, and they used it to express the same sentiment towards Hayes himself, but they were still upset and the best way to deal with emotions for them was to turn it into fuel for humor. Plus, it's south park, nothing is ever truly sacred and everything can be joked about in the usual blunt and semi-twisted manner. The fact they even gave an alternative with Stick of Truth shows their feelings have changed since then, especially with the information Hayes's son shared with everyone since his passing.

6:22 So I didn't see this episode when it first came out. I was born in 1988 so I do remember South Park and episodes from its first season which oh yes I was definitely way too young to be watching but I remembered watching some of them but I had never seen that two parter until years later. In fact the very first time I saw it without my anus I believe I saw it on TV I don't remember I might have seen it on the South Park studios website and clicked random episode, but anyways I actually wasn't aware of it being in April fool's joke until I binged the entire series on Hulu back when it was on that streaming site which by the way the cartoon Wars two-parter was in fact available to watch no restrictions how it originally aired back when the show was on Hulu so what gives Max? So I guess that's the result of the fact that I didn't see every episode when they first aired I wasn't aware of the April fool's joke until obviously way later. So when I saw the episode for the first time I wasn't even thinking about that and I just enjoyed it a lot because it was just so goofy and dumb. Watching the childish and spiteful way Stone and Parker turned chef in a P*******e because they got all butt hurt over something it turned out he never said, says a lot about the kind of people they are. Don't get me wrong, they make a funny show but they seem like pretty unpleasant people.

They portrayed him as someone everyone loves joining a cult that brainwashes him into becoming a reprehensible person. Is that spiteful toward Chef or his religion?
