Right out the gate, number 10, YES! I almost want to buy another base game so I don't have to sift through and separate the expansions. I sometimes need just the base game. If I have to separate a ton of stuff, I'll just pass on it and it stays on the shelf.

Great video! I hate when games come without an insert but have a ton of components in single-use bags without providing baggies at least

Single use bags are the worst.. sooo true. So is an ocean of baggies though!!

Lack of insert is crazy to me especially for games with a ton of components like Lost Ruins of Arnak or Terraforming Mars.

In their defense, I feel like when some designers "invent" new terminology, they might not be aware of all the more common already used terms.

man, i took a quick look at yo channel , wow u guys are hardcore . there are so many board games sweet baby jesus i wanted to get my friend for his bday a wh40k risiko , something basic since my group of freinds dont play board games so i wanted to keep it simple with as little setup as possible. u guys got some recom. for complet beginers that only played monopopy & risiko ? cheers

For all you “sleeves” out there, what percentage of the games you sleeve mean the cards won’t for properly in the insert? I don’t sleeve all my games but the one that warrant sleeving I get burned by this.

Same card backs for different types of cards is a good one. Why are boxes sometimes so huge? Retail shelf space, to give their game more of a fighting chance against physically bigger games.

@@ChitsandCardboard If I can give a publishing equivalent - We've given some books thicker paper so the spine will show up larger on the book store shelf. Also a thicker book has more perceived value.

1 extra page = 4 pages. Booklet page counts need to be divisible by 4 ;)

I get ya, but Index and Glossary pages should be a given. The entire boardgame is UX. If it's hard to interface with, it isn't serving a core function imo. This in contrast with your games which flow really smoothly, talking super complex euros and campaign games with weird interactions and such.

Giant unwieldy to hold rule books. No appendix that explains what cards mean in more detail. Badly written rules in general. I also hate the made up language for no reason and i will not call it your dumb new name when teaching others.

Haha giant rulebook is a great one. Badly written rulebook is always tough, because some people learn differently than others and maybe it works for someone, but I generally agree. Rulebook writing is a talent in and of itself.

If you are an amazing french publisher (likely the best in the world) and you make a rather complicated giant tech tree in your Egypt-themed are a control, and the game plays up to FIVE, do NOT put THREE player aides in english and three in French, please don't...
