I’m wanting to get to the Mistborn trilogy since I got it for Christmas! I haven’t read any Brandon Sanderson but you have made me definitely want to. Also hoping to pick up some VE Schwab!

I definitely need to bump up my Sanderson reading and read more of his other works. I actually read the original Mistborn trilogy initially because I'd seen you raving about it, and I loved it! Now I need to get on the Cinda Williams Chima boat! Personally, I'd like to bump up my classics/modern classics reads that I tend to put off like Anna Karenina. Loved this video as always!

I read Elantris late last year, and I loved it! Not quite as action packed as his other books, but the characterisation, the world-building, and the commentary on religion and power is so wonderful! I was surprised just how good it was considering it was his first novel. I hope you enjoy it too ☺️

Reagan, 2018 was my first year reading Brandon Sanderson. Elantris was the first book I picked up. It starts off slow to me but once I got halfway I was hooked. And the ending was great. The plot, characters, magic was interesting! Also read the first Mistborn book and it ended up being my favorite book of the year. 2019 I hope to finish Mistborn, Warbreaker, & Skyward. Stormlight Archive seems a bit intimidating. May save those books for 2020. :D

I have Gardens of the Moon planned too. But, I am still trying to accept the fact that Malazan Book of the Fallen series is gonna be a HUGE investment on my part. Other ppl who've read the books say it requires your undivided attention. Not sure if I want that kind of a commitment. Especially from a 10 book long series.

I also really hope to get to Pachinko this year! It really seems like a book that I would enjoy. I also really want to get to Circe by Madeline Miller because I wasn't able to get to it in 2018, even though The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is literally one of my favourite books of all time, which made Circe a highly anticipated release in 2018. I hope you'll get to The Raven Cycle, I adore that series. It's really unique and very friendship focussed, which I LOVE. Literally you just taking about the series in this video already made me crave a reread hehe.

if you are willing to slog through wheel of time (which is more or less the length of the malazan series you are going to read) the last 3 books were written by sanderson because the original author passed away. I believe that is what really got him his start.

I would like to try to read more Brandon Sanderson this year as well. Elantris was the first book I read by him and really enjoyed. My boyfriend bought me the first four books in Erikson's Malazan series and I always seem to get distracted though I am curious to read the books and hopefully this year will be the right time for me. Other books I'm hoping to get to are The Tethered Mage, The Book Thief, Seraphina by Rachel Hartman, more Mercedes Lackey, The Book Jumper by Mechthild Gläser, Provenance by Ann Leckie, In The Region of the Summer Stars by Stephen R. Lawhead, Sky In The Deep by Adrienne Young, Lord of Shadows and Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare, Voyage of the Basilisk by Marie Brennan, The Waking Fire by Anthony Ryan, Tempests and Slaughter by Tamora Pierce, and several others. Best of luck with your reading goals!

Elantris is so good too! I love one of the bigger twists in it. Also in true Sanderson style, my favourite character in Elantris gets the short end of the stick. I wonder if you can figure out who? xD I started going through Sanderson's stuff in order towards the end of last year, and I've gotten up 2009. It's not much progress just yet but I'm having fun going through and reading EVERYTHING he's ever written in order. It's so much fun!
