This was super helpful 😎 I really enjoy being able to learn from more experienced collectors. I Have a number of pieces from DC collectible and recently my Batgirl had a clean break of a small attached bat, I picked everything up and let it sit for a few minutes before repairing her. In my collection I've got a number of action figures and a bunch of those have arrived with issues (pieces loses or broken) and although that is disappointing, there's no way I'd stop collecting. I have only had a few minor but totally repairable issues that I took care of myself. I started out hyper critical of any and all defects,, but have learned over time to let minor defects go. I tell myself it adds character to the collectible 😆

I agree with the sentiment, It's most annoying when a piece arrives damaged, Initially I seriously wanna flatten the C responsible! However, putting things into perspective I soon calm down, nobody died and i'm cofident in my repair and painting skills. Luckily, the only major casualty has been a Lobster Johnson statue, It took ages to fix but It ended up looking as good as new. I have a special collection amendment in my contents insurance for 100K, more than the things are worth but the extra cover, covers the cost of replacing the irreplacable, if that makes sense. I imagine you have a similar clause but for a vastly higher amount 8-) I also keep a detailed inventory just in case I need to prove anything to the insurance company. Excellent video! That Phoenix Force statue grouping looks sensational, I would display It like that but Phoenix needs a plinth to elevate her slightly! My post has turned into War & Peace. Cheers, 8-)

My batman shugo showed up yesterday, not a major but had a broken katana handle out the box but after such a long wait to receive it I was just happy to get it out of transit. Nothing worse then a main peg leg broken I feel for ya. Ive also had a 1/4 scale iron man smash to pieces after my nephew dropped it. My fault for letting the nephew hold it….what was I thinking lol…

My first (and only, for the time being and hopefully for ever) statue breakage was my Modern Thor PF from SS. The Mjolnir piece fell and it broke where the handle meets the main part of the hammer. I was completely devastated... it was my second statue. And the piece fell from very low height (it fell from my grip, while I was on my knees) and landed on the carpet (not a hard surface). And still, it broke. Thankfully, it was an easy fix. And the breakage cannot be seen at all. But still, it completely ruined my unboxing experience.

Almost had a heart attack when I saw thoes Phoenix force statues thinking NOOO. Phew glad they are ok. Man there was a load of broken statues I am sorry these all broke on Thier way to you. I remember the room tour and saw the terminator head :( that absolutely sucks. Well biggest brakeedge was on my Jurassic park 3D print. One day just picked it up to look at it and there was a huge brake in the neck. But the guy patched it up and repainted it for free. So was pleased :) great video yet again Mr.X and it is great that Mrs.X can patch up some of these pieces and the company's did replace or refund you for your pieces. Take care Mr.X

My biggest break was from an EBay purchase. It was my grail piece (at the time) too. It was for SS Thanos on Throne. It arrived with the leg cracked in half. What made it worse was the seller tried to say it was my fault. Anyways, it took about 6 weeks for me to finally get my money back, and now I’m waiting for my XM Thanos to arrive. 😊 By the way, I like that insurance idea. My daughter sometimes threatens to break my statues if she doesn’t get her way! 😵

I put a Super great ape vegeta which is like 90? dollars, on a shelf above my very expensive resin statues and it fell :( The two resin statues fell on the ground and chipped/broke off. Luckily I was able to super glue most of it together, but of course there are scrapes and it just doesn't feel like it did. I hate when that happen

First piece was heat seeker deadpool and the base had quite a few breakages. Still was presentable so didn’t sweat it. I have the pieces and will eventually fix it up.

I have a custom Spider-Man vs Venom 1/3.5 scale on order that is almost 100% to arrive with a few broken parts. It'll be the most expensive statue I've purchased too.

Not sure if it’s bad luck, but your rate percentage of damaged / broken statues are quite astounding. It’s almost like beware of custom statues since majority don’t have better packing like using styrofoam. Also a warning not to buy statues without original packaging.

I had one Statue come in severely damaged, the Studio replaced the whole thing free of charge, so that was nice. One other Statue with a minor damage that isn't really noticeable, plus the Studio is supposedly sending a replacement part to my reseller supplier, who will then send it to me etc, its been awhile but its what ev, like I said the damage is not noticeable, so when it comes in, it comes in.

First "big" statue I ever bought (from Prime1), I took Ken The Eagle's head out of the box en I cracked the visor, fortunately it was the "battle-damaged" version so it sort off suits the head. But still. I was pissed for a few minutes and moved on. None of my statues arrived broken (yet).

My entire collection is insured with American Collector’s Insurance. They are awesome to work with. Better safe than sorry. The updating is a pain, but they were recommended by USAA, so I trust that when a claim may be submitted in the future that they would treat me well.

The only break I have had so far is the XM Deathstroke, the flag was cracked, since the foam was to tight and seems they forced it in. Besides that I had good luck with no breaks, but had a few problems with stuff nothing fitting together properly. Collectables Insurance prices are not bad, gave them a call, but still on the fence about them. Be a gem and file a claim for the community and let us know if they are worth the switch.

The first ever statue I sold was my prime 1 anti venom. I got him sealed, and he was in perfect condition. shipped him off in all original packaging, it arrived with like 7 minor breaks, and the large hand/fingers all snapped. Lost about 600$ and Haven’t shipped a statue since. Wanted to give up on statues after that, but they’re too damn cool.

My most heartbreaking, few years ago I bought the prime 1 lady Maria the one with the huge base, candles and table and I got over confident and walked up the stairs with her while she was on the base, I trip up the stairs and her chair legs snapped and she fell over while I watched her tumble down the stairs..... lesson learned lol.

Two words...museum putty. I live in Northern California, earthquake country. Every single one of my statues have museum putty (also called earthquake hold putty) under the bases. Have gone through earth shakers over the years. Not one single one of my statues have ever tilted nor fallen. Highly recommend fellow statue collectors to get some of that putty.

I was sooo pissed. I only broke one. It was Martian Man Hunter from Tweeterhead. I was moving it to make more space and my dumb ass took a phone call and tried to carry the statue and hold my phone with my shoulder. I was shifting my grip and popped out the cape along with his head. The cape was in pieces but very carefully glued it all back together and had to use sculpting putty. It looks okay but you’ll be able to tell if you get up close.

Ive broken 2 statues - when I first started collecting I was buying 1/10 iron studios statues and because I tried to avoid stepping on my dog I tripped and brought down captain america luckily I was able to fix it where it's not noticeable - 2nd time was entirely my fault as I have big hands that caused me to snap off fingers off a statue when putting it together luckily I was able to fix it as well - lastly they were cheap statues so the pain wasnt as big as your statues but still stung a bit

When I have a broken Sideshow statue then no big deal at all. If I have a XM or Prime 1 broken I get a little upset but still no biggie. Custom piece...tears fall.

Man i hate it when a Statue arrives broken. In my opinion is if i buy from a Shop i want a replacment 100% or it goes back or i want the Price for the Repair. When Buying from Privat it Depends how the seller packed it and and then we talk most Times i just let it fix from my repair guy. I only would open Payal when the seller packed it really Bad or i See that He lied and i See Major flaws which He didnt mentioned. But i know exactly what you mean with this nitpickers i have sometimes people who asked me if the shipper is in good condition then i already know that i dont sell it to him. Because when someone already cried about a shipper i know a paypal Action is coming . Because i collect know 7 years and no Statue company regardless if it is queen Prime Xm all are not 100%perfectly painted . Its painted by a human so their will be a flaw.
