I’m glad that Barbie was not the number1 for budget collecting doll while I enjoy this brand. It’s too common for “doll” and think if someone if coming to your channel on doll collecting then they are wanting out of the box 💡. That’s one reason why I love your channel it introduces and expands on more unique and diverse styles of dolls; many of these are actually on my list to get one day. Your list was great. My favorite part was about nostalgic and childhood dolls.

@@MunecasPoupeesDolls I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Sindy on clearance. I got the Party themed blue haired Sindy and Bakery cafe purple haired doll for approximately £10 each. I was just about to get the Sindy with the afro but they had all sold out and I refuse to pay eBay prices. They are adorable. They make me giggle as they have such serious little faces! 😅

I agree with the bonding by cleaning the doll. I found an Italian omade doll in a thrift store. When I purchased it at $2, I thought I would clean her up and then resell her. I cleaned her up, and there she stands on one of my doll shelves. I also keep wondering if I collect because of missing dolls in my childhood, but since there are others in my family that collect dolls, like my grandmother, maybe that is more of an influence.

I bet it's a combination of the two - I know a lot of people who collect who also had parents/grandparents that collected and I think that definitely has an influence.

I started out collecting historical dolls as a child. I lived in England when I was young and would save my allowance and go to the local toy store and buy a doll. I had never seen a Barbie then, so when I came back to the states, my friends had them. I fell for them, so then it was Barbies. I went through a period where I thought only kids had dolls but as I got much older started collecting again. Now I have Barbies, Smart Dolls, Pasha, Rainbow High (just cause their so darn cute) AG and other artist dolls. A never ending passion.

Absolutely 💜💜 my collection consisted of dolls from my childhood and flea market finds up until about 12 years ago. I still love the thrill of finding something exciting on the shelves at Walmart or discovering a treasure at the thrift store 💜💜

As a kid, I was afraid to say that I wanted to get dolls. I was afraid to say that I liked anything girly. Now I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a grown man who loves stuff like Monster High, Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Brite. I would love to start collecting the dolls for these shows. I feel like it's because I want to fill in some kind of void, because I never got to collect dolls as a kid. Is that a bad reason to start collecting them?

Shadow High and Rainbow High are my personal favorite doll lines and I have a complete Shadow High collection and a decent Rainbow High collection. I also own 5 sets of Storm Twins because they are my personal comfort characters and dolls and I got most of my sets of them on sale. And I feel like Our Generation is the best budget line for 18" dolls.🖤💜

What's really fun is the new MH you bought are brother and sister. Same family. Too bad you didn't find the new Catty Noir, she's a curvy doll. I've done the MTM curvy body swap. It was a little tricky because the Fashionista has flocked hair. I have an eighteen inch doll that I got from Canadian Tire. Harper's got the jointed soft body like the AG, and her hands and feet resemble them a lot too. Her hair is lovely and doesn't get static or tangles, and her face is very lively and sweet. Most of her wardrobe comes from Wal Mart. And she's a great size for days when I go into compulsive cuddle mode, so she's staying with me even though I'm liquidating most of the doll collection. The other eighteen inch doll I have is from Daisy Kingdom and looks a lot like Patsy. I still have to dress her, because she's a little plump for most eighteen inch doll clothes. And yup, I have dolls that I didn't get as a kid. Like Strawberry shortcake.
