Ghosts, then after, Advanced Warfare. Both a sad excuse of a once iconic franchise. The only reason they see the sales they have today is because the 12 y/o Fanboys preorder it just for the name. N1. Moment when Shepherd betrayed and killed Roach and Ghost. After you complete that insane mission and get him that DSM module, he even burns their bodies in the end. Definitely the most dramatic moment in the series. And remember this is the guy that sent pvt. Allen to join Makarov's butchers, killing all those unarmed civilians. And Makarov knew, that Allen was sent by Shepherd and blew his brains out, but only after the end of the mission, just like Shepherd did to Roach and Ghost. So basically Shepherd killed Roach and Ghost first hand, got pvt. Allen killed, helped Makarov start WW3 (because of the body of Allen discovered by the spetsnaz at the airport) and attempted to kill cpt. Price and Soap allong with the entire taskforce 141 and they were his group, and his men wich makes it far more sinister and evil. You go through the game hating Makarov and the Russians, but only too late you discover that your closest ally is a thousand times worse. The game has an epic story for a first person shooter.

Missed the two most epic scenes in the series: Death of Roach and Ghost in MW2 Death of Shepherd in MW2 MW2 boasted arguably the best campaign in the Call of Duty franchise as it provided thrilling missions such as "Just Like Old Times" to heart-pounding stealth missions like "Cliffhanger." The game also brings about some of the best shoot'em up action of any of the Call of Duty games in missions like "The Enemy of My Enemy" and "No Russian." The game also featured chilling missions in which possible real-life events happen in-game like in the mission "Wolverines!" It's quotes and showdowns aren't too shabby either. The game builds characters that you care about and get to know only to have you watch them as they burn away (sometimes literally) as you look on helplessly. Trust me, if you binge-play the campaign, it is an emotional roller coaster. I really dislike that this video practically ignores what is in my opinion the best game in the trilogy in favor of the original game and the somewhat disappointing conclusion to the series. While World at War was great and people can certainly become emotionally attached to the original, people just didn't get the real plot-essence of the game and it was more of a shoot'em up than a campaign at times. Nevertheless, the final mission was EPIC (and also left off of this video). Modern Warfare 3 further exemplifies this as the plot seems to be torn to shreds and massive battles that aren't even that intense plague the missions. Modern Warfare 3 really just served to tie up loose ends (no pun intended). This is partially Treyarch's fault, though, as Black Ops was such a disappointment (perhaps this was because it followed MW2?) that it set a record for pre-orders and returns. With the failure of Black Ops, though it had some good zombies maps, MW3 was rushed and was released a full 3 weeks early in an effort to recapture the community's interest. This caused MW3 to be a bit disappointing, though not as catastrophic, and led to the rushed development of Black Ops 2, which served to disappoint in most areas. This led to Ghost which is currently trying to pick up the pieces of the beloved franchise with extremely mixed reviews. Despite the history behind the games, I feel almost outraged seeing as how these people left out the greatest and most significant moments in the franchise's history in favor of criticizing the franchise for copying from movies and drawing plot parallels. If you are going to show the greatest moments in a great game, show off the game and don't criticize it! I understand that these people like to do movie-oriented reviews and as such sought to tie in video games to their field of expertise, but they really just bashed Call of Duty and failed to display the highlights. Furthermore, they didn't even show off Call of Duty, they just showed off Modern Warfare and one scene from Black Ops. I get Black Ops wasn't great, but they could have done better. Furthermore, the original COD "Their Finest Hour" was an excellent game and deserves praise, especially for its Stalingrad campaign. Can you more blatantly say "I haven't played the original Call of Duty games but I still want to review them so here's the games I have played?" They should at least specify that it's for the Modern Warfare/Black Ops series or the consoles on which the games are hosted. Using "Call of Duty" as an umbrella term is just misleading. come to think of it, they should specify that this is showing the greatest CAMPAIGN moments as I'm sure I wasn't the only one that came into this video expecting to see some quick-scoping montage (because let's face it, those are the only things that make montages). To summarize my impression of this video I offer the following score: 2/27 Tactical Nukes

Really? There is no way in hell that Shepard's betrayal isn't 1, 2, or 3! The entire time, my heart had been pounding from the adrenaline enduring run after securing the house, but when out of the blue, Shepard kills and burns Ghost and Roach, everything is off the table. It's more shocking than the nuke in my opinion! No one expected it at all! So that's why, it's the greatest call of duty moment! (How was it not up there?)

Killing SOAP ruined the series....they tried to get players excited about the end like they did in MW2 and ghost (while your stuck in a cutscene)....and the cutscene explaining your character after soaps death was even more ridiculous ...

People havd to agree that the modern warfare series are way superior, the way you got attached to your allies the memorable characters like soap and price, how it had shocking things like the nuclear bomb. It was fucking amazing when you got to know that makarov was the bad guy all the time. My favorite one is by far modern warfare 1

MW 2 and 3 were actually (imo) not very good. The campaign story was alright, but the gameplay was rather lacking. The first Modern Warfare, however, was actually _really_ good. The campaign was great, and the multiplayer gameplay was enjoyable and balanced. The only CoD games I really liked were WaW BO1, and MW1.

When Ghost died, I was absolutely shocked. I waited 2 years to see him return to MW3 only to be dissapointed. Ghost was really badass. There are other moments like when gas died in MW. Reznov, when you found out he was just a vision from BO1. Lot's of sad moments tbh. And most CoD community doesnt know shit about this because they only give a shit to xxxn0sc0p3zxxx in multiplayer.

I wish the kids nowadays could experience what people my age did in COD,well I am still a kid 13 years old but I went through COD WoW, modern warfare 1,2,3,4 when I was very young and had no Internet connection I remember replaying the missions hundreds of times and playing a museum mission over and over on one of the modern warfares but I mainly remember playing vendetta over and over just to experience Reznov talking sequence and the start the funny part is I didn't even know that was history till last year.

I agree with No Russian way more than the little girl though. No Russian wasn't just a mission where you aimlessly shoot civilians, it also played the linchpin for the major turning point in the story, the reason why the Russians attack the US and why Shepard gets his blank cheque. The little girl felt more like an uneventful exposition to the chemical bombings.

my three fave moments in COD was always been COD4's Charlie Don't Surf opening and along with MW3's Goalpost opening. the third moment is from COD Ghosts, which is the ODIN Strike opening/ending (which sorta used the same movement animations from MW2 ending)
