I don't agree with your suspicions. I just recognise that money and fame changes your life. Some people have a strong enough willpower to not let it change them, others don't. Like you said yourself, fame is overwhelming. Think about it. Suddenly you have alot more money than you know what to do with, and you're suddenly famous, so people are following you everywhere, everything you do or have ever did is found out about and scrutinized. It's hard not to let that change you. Even people who don't change fundementally will usually change in some way or another, because of the different lifestyle. I believe that's exactly what happened with most of these girls. They got them into a situation that they didn't know how to handle, and let it change them. Look at Lohan, for example. On the big screen since she was a kid. Properly famous since she was a teen. Growing up in that without really knowing anything else certainly has an effect on you.

Scarlett Pomers did the same thing (She played Naomi Wilman on Star Trek Voyager. Her music is also good, just a bit less sexual.) No, she can't stay a kid, but there are ways to grow-up that don't involve rubbing your butt against Robin Thicke's...um...yeah...onstage. Disney has raised a culture of stars who are put under enormous pressure and then are encouraged to turn toward drugs and sex and other such things to keep themselves afloat. Miley is an example of this. Of course she's not an inherently bad person, but the things she has done in recent years with herself have, for the most part, not been healthy.
