I even have a backstory for him: he learned in the local newspaper or something that Michael Max, Axel Hawk and Mickey Rogers are in hospital due to someone having beaten them up real bad. He enters King Of Fighters Maximum Mayhem suspecting that the one he believes to be responsible, Rob Python(of Buriki One fame), would be there.

Actually Real Bout 2 is canon now! They confirmed that any game with "Special" in the title is non-canon, while everything else is. So Rick is canon and can return without breaking the timeline up entirely.

Great list! I remember Wilson! I can't believe he hasn't been in a fighting game this long. He truly was one of the most seen in the arcades back in the day. Hon Fu is dang awesome, and would be awesome to see still going after Yamazaki! I'd love to see Duck king come back using some of Raygun's Olympic moves, and it would not be a Shoryu video without a call for his waifu to return! lol. Krauser needs to come back. Yes! A fully realized Yuri would be awesome. She could easily be dlc later and already has her own stage. I know they wouldn't do it, but it would be cool if after failing in his mission to arrest Yamazaki, Hon-Fu has turned to booze and now comes back with drunken boxing. Older Yuri is certainly an interesting pick... though I think just Mr. Karate II is enough as AOF's connection to FF. I'd rather save the AOF characters (including Gai and Silver) for the future AOF game. With RB2 now canon, the Jin twins' endings had Chonrei training under Tung Fu Rue and Chonshu under Kim. Would love to see if their movesets got updated as a result of their studies.

Glad to see someone giving a shoutout to the Jin Bros. There are no excuse not to bring them older with a revamped moveset. They need their redemption! (As much as Li Xiangfei and Rick ) My personal pick would be : -The Jin Bros -Li Xiangfei -Rick Strowd -Mr. Karate II *Blue Mary, the Kim Twins and Yamazaki are a given, that's why I didn't include here. PS: Regarding "Real Bout 2", the "City of the Wolves" producer stated that all the games without "Special" in their titles. Which would make the 3 first numbered games, the "2 Real Bout" and "Garou" the first 6 canon entries before CotW.

Bringing back Geese removed any impact he would have as a character especially since he Now has Rock Howard working under him. In hopes of finding out information about his missing mother. Also Gato was confirmed since the first trailer so he is definitely coming back. I hope SNK actually sticks to their original follow up for Garou 2 and Make Gato Blind for this game

If I had to fill out the next 11 slots for CotW it is unfortunately hard to cut the down to the 22 slots for the base roster and 1st Season of DLC There are characters who haven't gotten trailers, but are semi- confirmed so far with: Andy Bogard Joe Higashi Kain R. Heinlein Gato Hokutomaru While some may doubt the Hokutomaru evidence with his voice from the 1st trailer possibly being Andy, I think he would regardless be a pretty safe pick to be alongside Preecha and Rock as the new versions of the original three That just leaves six slots left for more characters: Freeman feels like the final character to be in the base roster as a minor villain and he was mentioned in Kevin's bio Kim Dong Hwan and Kim Jae Hyun are unfortunately who I expect to see as the 1st set of DLC characters to be released both in the Summer of 2025 Raiden's stage as an Amusement Park has been shown in the trailers, but with Tizoc in the base roster I feel comfortable seeing him as DLC Nightmare Geese is how I hope they bring back Geese and he'll definitely be DLC Final character I expect to be Ryo Sakazaki or Mr. Karate 2 as the "Guest character" Now I could see a situation in which a Capcom guest which is most likely a Street Fighter character gets in Season 1 of DLC, but I feel like that'd be more fitting to kick off Season 2. Unfortunately do to the limited cast size I had to leave out some characters who I hope come to the game as DLC at least: Blue Mary Duck King Ryuji Yamazaki Kim Kapwhan Hon-Fu Sokaku Mochizuki Rick Strowd Cheng Sinzan Then there is the possibility of more Art of Fighting characters like King, Yuri, and Robert showing up to promote the new Art of Fighting game whenever that would get released in like 2028. Alternatively, there is a possibility for brand new characters. Whether they be replacements for old characters like Vox Reaper with Grant, meant to stand alongside old characters like Preecha with Joe Higashi, or just be completely brand new characters like say for example Hotaru and Gato's father feels very possible. Regardless so excited for City of the Wolves!

I think the reason we don't see Honfu in The King of Fighters series is because, let's face it, he can't do anything to arrest Yamazaki Maybe Yamazaki from Fatal Fury is weaker than his KOF counterpart Maybe Orochi doesn't exist in the Fatal Fury timeline KOF made Yamazaki and Kim more interesting as characters It revealed the reason why the crazy yakuza has that elastic arm by making him a hakkeshu And made many taekwondo characters based on Kim (Jhun, Chae Lim, May Lee, Gang-il, Luong) to the point that they are like a family for Kim, a taekwondo family
