I was pleasantly surprised to find my Number 1 spot the same as your choice! I was stationed in Misawa Japan with the U.S. Air Force from Sept 1984 - Sept 1988. We attended two Cherry Blossom Festivals. They are so beautiful, and the festival was really fun. A young man back then with a cold drink. Really nice!

It's almost cherry blossom season. The forecast for this year's blooming is March 21 for Kyushu to Tokyo, April 4 for Tohoku, and May 10 for Hokkaido. My favorite cherry blossom tree is the one planted in a small park in my neighborhood, and I look at the blossoms as they begin to bloom, thinking, "A year has passed," and then watch the petals fall, hoping to see them again next year.

I'm working on one of my own, and it's much the same, although instead of Miyajima and Himeji Castle, I have Takato Castle Ruins, in Nagano Prefecture, and Kawazu, on the Izu Peninsula.
