Thank you Jan for several tips for cinematic effects in video editing. The thing is i'm still using hero 5 and the stability of it is quite shakey. I can't really maximize your tips for cinematic effects when Im travelling because of it. Planning to buy gimbal to compensate for that. Haha. More tips for cinematic effect in hero 5 please.

I know you used a GoPro Hero 7 here, but with the Hero 8, everyone says you don't need a gimbal anymore because the in-camera stabilization is so good. However, I wonder how you would get any of the shots you demonstrated without a gimbal? Gimbals are still useful, right?

Jan Klaeui Thanks a lot and used your trick of holding the Selfie and turning round the area and doing 4-5 locations and then cutting it to keep me in frame and change in background. Once edited will share the video..I have lots to learn in editing too as a beginner. Bought Final Cut Pro X and did tutorials online and this was result of first video posted on 15 Aug. That was a tricky move balancing the gimbal without a tripod base. Last time I did that a strong wind blew my gimbal and iphone and threw it off a ledge more than 4 meters. They both miraculously survived but I am never doing that again. Btw nice video!

Jan Klaeui very cool. I currently have the gopro 7 & i love it. There are so many things i like about the 8. Most of them like the presets seem to be software related, and i wish gopro gave a firmware update to hero 7 users so we could enjoy these changes too. But i guess they want people to buy the 8. I also like that the 8 doesn’t need a case. That is very convenient when changing batteries or sd cards. However, i do not like that the lens cover on the 8 cannot be removed like on the 7. So if you crack the glass, you have to send the whole camera in for repair, while with the 7 all you need to do is put on a new lens cover for $20. That concerns me since i travel a lot to remote locations. I am going to wait to see what the gopro media mod case is like for the 8 before i decide if i will upgrade.
