Giant Soldier of Stone at least saw some play in the very earliest TCG meta, when La Jinn ruled the world. It had more ATK than the other 2000 DEF monsters, which meant attacking with it after a board wipe wasn't the worst idea.

Glad to see fluffals/frightfurs mentioned again in a video. King of the swamp was a nice option for Frightfur back when they could focus wholy on fusion summoning. Now with frightfur patchwork, king of the swamp has been phased out of most fluffal strategies. Especially since the fluffal engine in modern yugioh is used more for link summoning or getting out toadally awesome. With their fusions being used for their on summon destruction effects or to combo off with cross sheep, usually both. Frightfur fusion ends up being used as a final push to summon frightfur tiger (or maybe wolf) with a crap ton of materials to board wipe or get an otk from multiattack.

Fun fact: Fossil Dyna's anime effect has nothing to do with blocking special summons or anything. It got that effect completely out of nowhere. It's anime effect is that if it destroys a monster by battle, it switches to DEF and then gains DEF equal to the DEF of the destroyed monster until the end of the next turn.

I actually don't think Fiber Jar should be banned. We play with it all the time, and it's barely as bad as most of the boring BS you can do in the game these days. Heck, half the time it can benefit your opponent just as much as you, a quarter of the time it screws you over, and the last quarter is one-sided in your favor. This isn't old Yugioh anymore- a Fiber Jar flip is just as likely to load your opponent up with hand traps and engines as it is you.

I actually agree. The card can help you just as much as harm you, and it's honestly an infinitely more fun card to have thrown in your face than 99% of the garbage we have to deal with these days. I never even wanted it banned way back in the day either. Such a stupidly fun card.

Ive been playing Yugioh since the very beginning. Im just started playing the emu games. Early game with Stairway to Duel and normal classic play, I never understood the appeal of low level effect monsters. I only have one that is worth the real estate of a 60 card deck. Needle worm. Best starting hand NW+gravekeepers servant auto 6 card out. I have decked out opponents with that starting move. I'd rather have powerful 4 star monster line up and spell and trap cards. Goddess with 3rd eye also has substitute fusion material. I know cause I have a copy...that I never use😢😢😢
