Colin Firth should have won the Oscar for A Single Man and Jeff Bridges should have won for True Grit. That Bridges won for the truly bad film called Crazy Heart the year Firth lost for a Single Man. If Bridges Hollywood friends wanted to give a lifetime achievement award, which I have no problem with, it should have been for True Grit, an excellent remake of a very good film, with a stunning performance by Bridges. Firth was ROBBED for not winning for A Single Man and should have won two years in a row given the quality of his performance in The King's Speech, but I could have lived with Bridges winning for True Grit. But Crazy Heart, a horrible film. Not.

Yes. Your number one choice was correct. Colin Firth thoroughly deserved his Oscar for the King’s Speech. It is one of the ironies of history that I believe King George the Sixth did his job and duty as King better, indeed a lot better, than his brother would have, Despite his lack of training for the role, his shyness and speech impediment. Sadly, the stresses of his unexpectedly becoming King contributed to his early death in 1952, something that the Queen Mother never forgave Her brother in law and Wallis Simpson for.

I do agree. However with one change. Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice should have been atleast 2nd or 3 rd. Though the 2nd and 3rd mentioned are no less good, Darcy should be up there. It was the performance that made this man. Colin Firth had changed the image of Pride and Prejudice from a female oriented story to a Man centric, outshining the terrific Jennifer Elhe.

My first ever watch of Colin's performance in media was Nanny McPhee, but I was so young that my crush was actually Thomas Sangster lol and I didn't paid much attention to Colin. You can guess how my preference of attraction went. My second introduction to Colin's performance in media was Harry Hart. Yet again my crush was Taron Egerton lol (he is the same age as Thomas Sangster btw). I mean look at Taron, he's the most adorable puppy. So I rewatched Kingsman for nostalgia's sake. And so I rewatched Nanny McPhee for the third time. And then I watched Mamma Mia. And after, I watched The King's Speech. You know where this is going right? Don't act daft. I even watched Supernova (2021). Now I'm just finding time to watch Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I have to make more free time to start on the series he's in. Contrast with all the movies of Colin I'm planning to watch, on the side I'm watching multiple video edits and interviews of Taron Egerton lol
