Normally I'd be like 'oh no that's bullshit' but she had just been accused of being racist because she didn't like one of the women there, even though she was friends with all the other poc in the competition AND her lifelong best friend is black. I'd be MASSIVELY offended if I was called racist, especially because as a mixed woman I've faced racial violence and slurs.

Crystal Owens same thing happened to me, but with gender. my friend asked me if i thought traps were gay, and when i started saying something to the effect of “trans women aren’t traps, aren’t traps cross dressing men in pornos?” (tbh i still don’t know the answer to that one) she went on this whole rant about “if you REALLY respect trans women you wouldn’t say that they’re only for porn”, which not only proved she was only asking the question to start a fire fight but she didn’t listen at all to my answer. My lifelong best friend, the girl who helped me through middle school even when she was in the middle of her transition, is transgender. i love her so much. i would die for her and she would die for me. I just told her that if she ever insinuated again that i have nothing but respect for my best friends identity i would stop talking to her entirely. i’ve never been more mad at a person in my life.
