In the isekai spin off manga "The King of Fantasy" which is about Iori who gets sent to a fantasy world, Iori actually explains why he fights even though he hates violence. In that when one of the characters questions his philosophy he answers with "Would you say that a sword itself is violent? Of course not. It's the same idea. A fight by itself isn't violence - defending yourself, or exchanging blows with another driven opponent, isn't what I call violence. To me violence, is when you use your strength in a cowardly way, against someone who can't defend themselves or bears no hostility."

Judging by the decrease of fighters from XIV to XV, and the multiple newcomer team endings that say that they will return to the next competition, it is likely that they were beaten up similarly to Fatal Fury 2. Also, it could be likely that K’ ‘s partners would be completely different, as Nelson and Sylvie Paula Paula have ties to NESTS (Nelson being that his mechanical arm is likely from NESTS due to his team ending).

@@ShoryuGame I see. But there had to be some in-game reason for why teams like Official Invitation, Another World, South Town, and South America won’t return. Their endings give them a reason to return, especially Another World. Also with the Orochi Team, the American Sports team might not make it, but then again, their return would make an interesting plot when facing the Orochi team, Vanessa, and Ramon (the later two was said to stolen their invitations from 2001, and I wish they would tell who was going to be their 4th member/striker).

For me, these are the list: 10. Safest, but when he trains Muay Thai, prepare for broken bones, alot of broken stuff and most definitely a ton of broken alcohol bottles 9. Ironically, he’s one of the safer character to be with as well, he can live with Kyo for some reason (and in lore, I guess Esaka’s average paid is also shite as well), he isn’t the type to attempt violent on random people as the drama CD shown him having a childhood friend talk in the past... he’s very quiet and passive actually, it’s kinda cute... she’s dead by-the-way, he has a girlfriend, a band and ironically, only fight when antagonized or... anything related to Kyo... or his Orochi blood is acting up 8. Unless you’re one of his suppliers, off spring (Adelheid and Rose) or employee (like Vice and Mature), you’ll at least make a good metal statue 7. He’s Tetsuo Shima... and like Tetsuo Shima, his is VERY out of control, either he’s going to destroy the entire apartment or YOU, he also has an inferiority complex which GREAT, that’s even better 6. That Pikachu shirt is a fucking lie, she’s the type to torture you and leave you alive just so she can hear those bone cracking sounds again... or eat you 5. His reasoning is unknown to everyone... but after playing Kizuna Encounter, he’ll kill you for some reason 4. You’re human... ask Shion 3. A strange J-pop artist, she seems to be one of the NEST sleeper agent but unlike Angel, it seems to activate erratically, due to her being a “failure”, so her mental state is VERY deep in the gutter but overall? She’s probably the second safest option 2. Unless you’re his some sort lost childhood friend, a friend of his mentor then he ain’t killing you... he’ll just attempt to throw you through the roof, and if he’s paid to do anything to you, better pray for Orochi to bring you to heaven 1. Honestly? Considering he’s Delusional, insane, a superior intellectual AND a leader of some sort of prison cult, you better hope this guy is from the SNK heroine manga version So the list of safe people to live with: 1. Hwa Jai (don’t train with him) 2. Iori Yagami (don’t be Kyo or be with him when his Orochi blood starts to act up) 3. Sylvie Paula Paula (Get some rubber... Durex doesn’t count) 4. Tetsuo Shima (try to please him as much as you can... or be as close to him as you can) 5. Vice (get some painkillers and hope) 6. Rugal Berstein (run) 7. Jyazu (run) 8. Magaki (fuck) 9. Ryuji Yamazaki (your head worth 10 dollars) 10. Xanadu (I don’t fucking know) I know me KOF lore alot and I don’t have a life... Iori is a legitimate nice guy to live with if the lore suggest anything, especially since he LIVES with Kyo (those 800-2000 yen earning ain’t doing much ok?)

@@James-oj6ru What Iori considers as violence is when strong people hurt the weaker one. He doesn't mind hurting others when it is in KOF tournaments. As K' say after defeating K9999 in his special win pose in KOF2002: 'A man's hysteria is uncontrollable...' Similar to Tetsuo, K9999 has inferiority complex that's why he hates K' so much. Vice's win pose in KOF98: "HURRY UP AND KILL ME!!" Also, she likes american comic books.

Xanadu also has very interesting win quotes against other fighters, even though most of the roster just mocks him for his ramblings, he immediately figured out Mature and Vice aren't alive, apparently knows about Verse, calling it "Time, integrated vertically!", and says to Shun 'Ei that he has to "destroy symmetry to avoid annihilation". Also, Oswald knows Xanadu and for some reason wants to kill him, but the latter just laughs at him because he doesn't know him. I feel like SNK wanted to do a lot more with Xanadu than just "weird crazy guy", he knows things...

Yeah even in the beginning he always came across as a crazy because he knows to much type of character to me but the problem was that they released him in a game with bare bones storytelling and didn't give him enough moments to alert the player that there was more to him

For me, there are 5 crazy characters that I like. Yamazaki, Vice, Rugal, Sylvie and Iori Yagami (especially him). Not because of his Orochi version, is because I like his fighting style that he uses Slashing Hands and pure instinct.

I think Jivatma, the final boss from KOF Maximum Impact 2 is also a weird character. Because of his design, weird attacks, the way he moves and his loud scream during his Desperation Move in KOFMIA His another costume is a big WTF Also, he is an alien 👽 Hyena has also weird moves but he is a joke character so he is suppose to not being taken seriously. I like how one of his Desperation Moves (JOKE) is similar to Oswald's JOKER but it does less damage and doesn't look as stylish as Oswald's version because Hyena is so clumsy and incompetent. Also, Hyena has the most powerful Supers in the MI games, the Hyena Punch. That super can make over 75% of damage.

K9999's inferiority complex may be because, unlike other Kyo clones, he is an imperfect one, that's why he doesn't look like Kyo and also explains his poor control of the Kusanagi flames. Instead, K9999 got unique powers like his shapeshifting abilities, psychic powers and the ability to transform his arm in anything he wants. That is the reason why NESTS didn't discard him. K9999's didn't have full control of his powers however that's why NESTS gave him a special glove.

At first I was going to go off on why Yamazaki wasn't #1, but yeah. Xanadu. I think I blocked him from my memory for some reason 😅 Also that K'9999 thing didn't age well, but I think we're all glad it didn't! Krohnen manage to bring himself back while severing the too obvious Tetsuo connection that left SNK in hot water after his first appearance. Just hope this wasn't a last appearance haha

K9999's design looks more like Chirico Cuvie from the anime Armored Trooper Votoms. You can see that in his pants and short blue hair. Also, the name K9999 is based on a character from the same anime.

That theme feels aggressive and uncontrollable. It fits with the character. I really miss K9999. I like his rivalry with K' and friendship with Angel, in my opinion those two punks work better together.

K999 actually had to go for legal reasons. SNK plagiarized his design from another artist, then got permission afterward. After that I believe some kind of agreement was made to never use K999 again. That’s why Nameless popped up in 2002UM

Yamazaki for me is a nightmare i remember when i play Kof 97 and Fatal Fury 3 he was really hard to beat and because of his madness he scared me a lot and made me very angry (why the hell Blue Mary team up with him ? That's a nice list. Hwa Jai also displays quite a sociopathic, gratuitous hatred towards Ash over his appearance alone. Of course he isn't alone in that, there are several reasons to dislike Ash and it's fine if people aren't into feminine-presenting boys, but the way Hwa Jai comes across is ridiculous. Ash doesn't even taunt or talk down towards him to promt such behavior, so I assume Jai is just a bigot and one of the crazy ones.

Great job with the video, Shoryugaming. I’m actually have a similar experience with Sylvie. At first, she was too much of an oddball for me. (Seriously, the outfit freaked me out.) But after hearing her origins, seeing her ending in SNK Heroines, and her fear of being rejected, I actually felt sorry for her and I find her interaction with the established cast really charming. Iori's original clothes were actually functional. As a tall person, he needs to keeps his legs together for balance. If his design was dumb, Capcom wouldn't have copied it (Remy) or responded to it (SF Alpha Cody's handcuffed hands).

I liked how the devs were self-aware of how ridiculous an idol character would be, and didn't try to present Sylvie as cute, just weird. And they added a subtle tragedy to her, tying her well into the game's lore. Basically, they did everything that Lucky Chloe lacked, but Sylvie still got called the bad one.

The reason why iori laughs after defeating his opponent is because he hates violence so the laugh is like "look what you made me do" . Seeing a person dressed the way he is, people would quite often try to bully or mess with him, to their own detriment.

Yamazaki is craziest to me when he laughs and then screams in rage. He's a cooler badass than most final bosses (In Capcom Vs SNK 2, I make a villain team with him as a leader and Geese and Rugal as 2nd and 3rd). SNK has better charismatic villains. In most of their fighters. Other companies make a villain badass by power, but generic in personality. Not exactly boring but, meh - we get it their powerful and will rule the world or the city or some shit. If they make CVS 3 they need Krauser in there. He just wanted to kick ass while his orchestra played in his debut. That took me by surprise, and made him one of my faves apart from his abilities.

Hello Jose. What I like about the manhua adaptation of KOF2001, is how K9999 calls himself the 'perfect fighter'. He hates the fact that he is a clone. He knows he can't change his fate so that's why he wants to destroy the strongest fighters (especially K') He wants to show everyone why he is the perfect clone. *"If I can't destroy all of you... ...then 'How would I be perfect?"*
