For Tentacrool X Lapras, I think the "eyes" are like an anglerfish. The jewels on it's head or actually the eyes. OR like a crab the eyes are on little stalks, and the throat and esophagus are in a different spot in the mouth.

I kinda of feel like the the number one fusions back story could go something like this. And existence born seeking death but never getting omamime (sorry if I spelled that wrong) lerks in the most dangerous places to end it's own life but having no control over it power sometimes saves it from the death it so vigorously seeks. So some try aimlessly to die while other take out the rage on unsuspecting trainers, deep forests, forgotten ruins, even quite suburbs no place is safe from its wrath when it chooses to go AWOL.

My two favourite pokemon fused Salazzle+darkrai= salkrai Poison/dark Salkrai inhabits dormant volcanoes and hides in obsidian pools. It can spit a highly corrosive acid which rots through anything it touches. If you are burned by its acid and survive you would experience horrible nightmares for a period of up to 3 months.

For the Tentacruel+Lapras fusion. I can imagine that is an outer mouth like the aliens (from...well she said it so mur) and it's mouth and eyes are inside. It may trap small prey inside or bite out a chunk or larger prey that it has pinned down with its tentacles and large body. Or it's like a hoody and it's real face is inside....does it do the eagle drop or a Swan dive 😆
