Funnily enough I actually did make a dog-person race a few months ago. It's based on Tabaxi but now I'm going to have to go back and make some edits based on some of the ideas you mentioned. For anyone curious, this is what I have now, pre-update: Inurio Ability Scores: Con +2, Choose 1 from: Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Cha Size: Medium Speed: 30ft, burrow 15ft Age. Inurio have lifespans equivalent to humans, but reach maturity around 10 years. Size. Inurio are taller than your average human and range in build from slender to bulky depending on their breed. Your size is medium. Blindsight. You have the keen senses of a canine, specifically smell and hearing. You can perceive your surroundings within 60ft of you without using sight through scents and sounds as long as you can hear and there is no strong wind. Canine Instincts. Your nature as a canine makes you geared towards fighting with partners. You have advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5ft of the creature and is not incapacitated. A dog to the core despite being humanoid, Inurio are adept at digging, you have a burrow speed of 15ft. Dogged Determination. Fiercely loyal, you cling to life to defend members of your pack. If you are reduced to 0 hit points but not outright killed and are within 10 feet of an ally, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. Dog's Talent. You have proficiency in Perception and Insight. Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice. The floating stat point is to represent your chosen breed. Greyhounds would likely have a +1 to their Dex. Bloodhounds would have extra Wis for tracking. Mastiffs would probably double down on Con or take the Str. So on and so forth. I made them to be goodboy literal-guard dogs and obsessively loyal mercenaries for a homebrew setting. I welcome all suggestions and critiques.

My own Top 10 list that I'd like to see in 5e: 10) Half-giant (Expanded Psionics) - Give us some glorious Dark Sun. 9) Death-Touched (Dragon 313) - humanoid usually created via an undead bloodline (not unlike the spellscale having dragon blood). 8) Azerblood (Dragon 350) - tiefling/aasimar version of a dwarf. Could just be a subrace of a dwarf like a duergar. 7) Diabolus (Dragon 327) - an outsider satyr with a scorpion tail. 6) Dvati (Dragon Compendium Vol 1) - This is less likely to ever happen, but they're essentially twins that share hit points. They don't necessarily have to share classes either. 5) Spelljammer races (Dragon 339): insectare, giff, and scro - Instead of listing them individually, just pile them all into one listing because all three would be fantastic to have. 4) Gruwaar (Dragon 317) - monkeylike goblin cat fey. Because heck yeah! 3) Whisper Gnome (Races of Stone) - a subtype of the gnome, but incredibly stealthy and very, very silent. 2) Thri-kreen, non-psionic (Monster Manual II) - another dark sun race, but has four arms and has a crazy jump ability. 1) Hellbred (Fiendish Codex II) - humanoids that messed up when they were alive, but are given a second chance to redeem themselves, and are reincarnated into a hellflame scarred version of their former selves. Think Spawn. They would be their own race, but would have two subraces, not unlike the suggested 3.5 dragonborn of Bahamut conversion having three. The hellbred chooses either Body or Spirit. Unfortunately, Devil-Touched feats don't exist, so the "Body" would need to be adjusted. Runners Up: The psionic races (Complete Psionic and Expanded Psionics) - Synad, elan, xeph, and maenad. These would be great, but we don't have actual psionic classes (yet). This would also open up the half-giant and thri-kreen subraces that were psionic powered. You could make non-psionic versions of each race, and then expand them later, but it wouldn't feel that authentic.

Tibbit. A magically evolved race that began as wizard familiars, they're a shapechanger that looks like a halfling, but can change into the form of a domestic cat at will. In 5e, this would be like having an unlimited number of uses of wild shape, but only to change into a cat. Modron: Don't just re-skin the warforged. That's weak. Don't take away their wings, there are flying races available already. Don't give them the ability to wear armor, give them an AC calculation or a flat AC, like the tortle. Lupin: +1 CON and WIS, +1 floating bonus (or based on sub-race). Keen senses. Darkvision to 60 feet. Pack tactics. Bite attack: 1d4 piercing. On hit, can attempt shove (trip) attack as a reaction. Honestly, I'd like the dragonborn to just be revamped and there are subraces. Not like the ones in Wildemount, those can be thrown into a fire. Like you take the aspects of a dragon such as their wisdom, strength or their intelligence and you can choose a subrace that works for what kind of class you want. Like take the stat increases for the wildemount dragonbonr (those are fine) and some of the more useful traits like darkvision. Also, have a number of dragon breath charges that are 1 + your con modifier, you can spend more than one charge and add 2d6 of the damage type and keep the resistances. Hell, you can give one of the subraces something like natural armor. I homebrewed something like this, I never got a chance to play test it but essentially I took the ideas of dragonborn subraces and made them actually good. And they look more like dragons with horns and tails.

Not only do they show this in actions, but they give their entire body to the cause, sacrificing everything they once were in order to protect other people. 2) I just really like dragons

I hope the ghost elves get some love. Idk if they are in other settings but im sure they are forgotten realms. And the original dragonborn are great. I've contemplated offering it my pc's Vayemniri

No, they were not part of Forgotten Realms or any setting officially. They are an unofficial race that never was included in any setting.

Wow they really did make 5e dragonborn buttcheeks compared to 3e dragonborn

Nerd Immersion he meant simic hybrids, which a Vedalken can be, but they are not the same. Read GMGR if you are interested!

Wouldn't the killoren abilities you copy the seasons from the Eladrin as a template for their big ability?

I think each meditation for the spell scale should have its baseline proficiencies. Then as a racial feat it would enhance each one to give a metamagic with a limited number of uses maybe proficiency modifier or cha modifier

Nice choice👍sad though the deep imaskari and Asherati didn't make the list.

The dragonborn could work in 5e. The monstermanual has the guard-drakes already so the concept exists. Make it a feat which opens up more "Racial" feats later on like the wings etc you can get from Dragon sorcerer / urdwings for cobold. That way you get the Racial features of the base race plus whatever you choose as the dragonnized version of yourself.

In the setting that I'm currently working on, the Dragonborn are all "reborn" Lizardfolk. A Lizardfolk PC could potentially become a Dragonborn and gain a Draconic Ancestry resistance and breath weapon on top of their normal traits, but their ability scores don't change. A PC that starts out as a Dragonborn gets the Lizardfolk's Bite, Hold Breath and Natural Armor traits, as well as one Wildemount variant's feature; either Forceful Presence if they are of Metallic or Vengeful Assault if they are of Chromatic anestry (depending on the dragon that provided the scales for the ritual), in addition to their standard Player's Handbook features. They don't get Cunning Artisan, Hunter's Lore or Hungry Jaws, since those are cultural rather than physical traits.

I would love to see avariel in 5e. I've homebrewed one but something official would be nice.

As a wiz main, what we really need is more Intelligence based races (yes I know Tasha may change everything)
