I largely agree with your list especially Punk and Mavis and particularly Rebecca Wentworth. However, didn't care for Kimberly Cryder, I thought Sasha Mitchell was an untalented hack. The one character I would like to have seen on your list was washing actress Joanna Cassidy in the role of Sally Bullock#2, I think that she would have been impressive addition to the cast; and that she and JR could have really done some hardcore scheming together. Cassidy played her so deliciously, I think it would have worked very well even though she was only in one episode - The Venezuela Connection.

I actually hated that Ellie/Mavis scene where Mavis confesses to Ellie that Punk cheated on her, that she was willing to share him if he had to, and that SHE was the one waiting for HIM to divorce HER. It made her look weak and needy to me. She was a nice enough character but, man, that dialogue made me think of how sometimes the writers on this show would do the women so dirty...particularly toward the end of the series. I remember loving Pam in the very beginning of the show when she was the scrappy girl from the other side of the tracks who married the rich guy from the wrong family, but was willing to deal with it all because she loved him. I think her character began to go downhill a little when they made her an heiress, and then they turned her into someone completely annoying and unrecognizable at the very end when she became paranoid, insecure, and high strung over just about everything. They didn't have to do that to a legacy character like that. I also hated it when they made Sue Ellen's life after JR divorce #1 into something that was scary and miserable just because she was a newly single lady. It's like they chose to play up the worst parts of being single instead of the best parts, and made it seem like the only time she could find happiness or self-worth was when she was with someone else...in that case, the man who mistreated her and was the reason for the divorce in the first place. I realize that all those things were done in service to future storylines, but I still hated it just the same. I wish they could have handled those things better.

She was to me too. But in the 80s neither she nor Howard were as popular as Linda, Victoria or Tilton. And, well, the producer fired her. So she wasn't underrated? The video was not about the most horrible characters btw. Have a great weekend. Toni

@W81Researcher Жыл бұрын
@@supersoaps I didn't say it was. But I saw Donna as a major character. She was on that show for eight seasons. She was in a relationship with Ray Krebbs. There was also an adoption storyline with her and Ray. Yeah the producer fired her but she was also fired with Jamie and Pam left. I think the show was transitioning to a more glamorous direction. Look at how Linda Gray looked after 1986. I think they were keeping up with the 80s fad and the early 80s still had a 70s feel. I guess seeing as you put it, Howard wasn't given the credibility that Gray, Hagman, Principle, and Duffy were. That's true. Though Bobby, Pam, Sue Ellen, and J.R. were the cornerstone of that show. Cliff was the antagonist to the Ewings. Donna really had no connections to them as Ray was loosely associated. But yeah when looking at it that way she was probably the best of the rest. But you could see the show was getting younger.
