I'd recommend Cass Khaw's novella "hammers on bone" from her backlist, it's the first thing I read from this author and it blew me away ❤😊... And I'm so excited to read the new one 🎉

Love your recommendations! Request. Can you please post a video of your 5-star reads? Thank you!

If I did that for Dark Fiction published in 2023... it would just be the number one book. I'm stingy with 5 stars

I've read "Death of a Dancing Queen". It's really fun and I'll read the next one in the series too.

If you like Chlorine, you should try Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang! It’s not as lyrical in prose, but it touches on both romantic and familial relationship as well as the “wellness” industry. It was like reading a really excellent Twilight Zone episode! I highly recommend, I read it all in 24 hours because I just had to know what happened next!

Scourge Between the Stars sounds good. I am 2/3rds of the way through Paradise 1 and you are right, it's just okay. I need to finish Pinata. I DNFed halfway and probably should have pushed through 😂

Sorry Paradise-1 isn't wowing you either

Blind Spots' synopsis reminds me of Blindness by José Saramago. Wonder if there's any connection.

Just reserved "The Strange" from my local library. Love "The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury. Hope this red duster is the good, not the bad and the ugly!😉

I'm eager to get my hands on the audiobook of Pinata. Really enjoyed Ghost Radio by the same author and Pedro Pascal's narration.

I wish he did the narration for Piñata but I suppose it made more sense to have a female voice

I’ve added so many of these recommendations through my library. Very interested to read Chlorine. If you haven’t read Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey yet I highly recommend. It was gorgeously grotesque horror done in a beautifully understated way. Hard to describe but left a huge impact.

Oh no I haven't read that one

Confused by Bad Cree cover. Inuit syllabus but Cree are not Inuit. As someone born and raised in the arctic.

I have The Spite House on my eReader. I’ve started and DNF’d a couple books so was looking for something that would grab me. It’s a rainy day in Italy and we are not cycling so reading it is. Btw, the sequels to Dauntless are more of the same. Same old arguments about becoming or not becoming Black Jack, round and round it goes, plus space battles where his old military strategy wins the day. I started fourth book and got bored despite skipping large chunks of it. It was like I’d already read the same story several times before. I may finish it later. Or not.

Wasps in the Ice Cream originally came out last year, he resigned after a certain author ruined that printing press with a crap write up of a book.

Oooooo... I had no idea. But I believe I know what printing press you are talking about
