stomyn Yet, on Arrow (Mojo's prime example of her) she is a murderer and in prison. Batman never fully accepts her in the comics because she is too violent. She squarely fits in the middle grey area with characters like Jason Todd and Catwoman. A good alternative to Huntress on this list would be StarGirl.

I prefer that they have their own original back story and storyline. Of course there are people like She-hulk and Wasp in Marvel, but I feel like the most popular female characters in Marvel are a bit more original. I do realize that DC is found of that spin off style even with younger men being the "boy" version, it's just not my cup of tea.

@@carlasuryawan5409 there's Donna Troy (the dark haired one who founded the Teen Titans with Dick, Wally and Garth and then the New (Teen) Titans) and Cassandra Sandsmark (the blond one who got all her characterization destroyed so they could put a wonder and a Super together without breaking the strong friendship of Diana and Clark and later on the Wonder/Bat duo) both of whom where never really developed after 2003 as something other than a love interest for Cassie (some people tried here and there but it never lasted long) and... nothing for Donna... she died and then they half heartedly tried to bring her back but didn't really do anything with it And then there are the New52/Rebirth ones which don't actually exist and are really just a fever dream

ECKohns It might be convoluted, but it does make some sense. Slade was in love with Shado, and her death combined with the fact that his mind was all scrambled by the Mirakuru makes for a sensible, if a bit underwhelming motivation. Slade used Isabel to take Oliver's company, thus depriving him of all his funds as well as giving Slade access to all of Queen Consolidated's technology. And Sebastion was in charge of creating and leading the Mirakuru Army, him becoming Mayor was just what Slade gave him in return for his work. He blackmailed Oliver to try to get him to kill Ra's so that he would no longer be hunted by the League. And Laurel is better than she was the previous seasons, at least she's actually doing something now.

I know Vixen isn't that popular a character, but her African heritage makes her one of the more unique and diverse figures in the DCU. I get that you had to skip out on Amanda Waller because she's almost always antagonistic in her stories, but she's always fighting for the good cause (but then again, so does Catwoman and you had to remove her for obvious reasons). I'm not altogether fond of using sidekicks here, the only reason I agree with Barbara Gordon being on the list is because as Oracle she is part of the Birds of Prey and not just a Batman sidekick. Big Barda is another really interesting space-Amazon so there's that. I really like "Jade" -- Alan Scott's daughter -- as a GL. From the Endless you have Delirium, who is always an extremely fun character to read, not to mention powerful and occupies a certain brand of fantasy that Wonder Woman or J.R.R. Tolkien's fiction is tonally different from. There's also Katana, who's enjoyed a resurgence of popularity in mainstream adaptations... So here's my complete list of characters who should also have been on this list (in order of popularity): 1. Vixen 2. Katana 3. Big Barda 4. Rose & Thorn II 5. Manhunter 6. Delirium 7. Jade 8. It's totally my favorite thing when people forget, about Cassandra Cain, probably one of the most complex and important characters in the DC universe, with an incredible backstory and admitted by batman himself that she could probably defeat him in a fair fight, died twice, has never had an actual love interest, has a learning disability, is a woman of color, and daughter of a world renowned assassin and the best martial artist in the world, ok, that's fine, whatever
