Concern is how much time do you have, make a decision particularly there are multiple missile, and how to deploy your ships and weapon systems. There are many anti-missile system and gatlin guns out there for selection, problem is reaction time, defensive option, then shoot.

All defense options are chosen in case of imminent threat based on threat level. An AAA gun wouldn't be of much help against a hypersonic missile. An anti-missile defense system won't be of much use against a boat! It's also threat levels based on which suitable systems react automatically!

The software used to guide the BrahMos missile accurately to its target is developed by India. The support system used to convey trajectory changes for targeting moving vessels and the fire control system used to track and engage targets are also developed by India. DRDO has developed indigenous seekers and replace the Russian ones with indigenous seekers. Now, the propulsion is the only contribution of Russia in the project. Storm Shadow is Anglo-French, not French. Without BAE Dynamics, Matra, the French defence company, could never have produced it. France invested less in the weapon's development than the UK and bought fewer. France has about 500 hundred of them; the UK has around 1000 in stock. india fired a brahmos inside pakistan , the missile travelled 124 km inside pakistan and it took pakistan 24 hours to realise that they have been hit , they could not identify the missile ( radars could not detect them ) let alone intercept it ...thats the beauty of super sonic missile they are damn fast ...the missile btw has no warhead but still when it completed its courses and fell down after losing energy it destroyed 4 houses in its path ..think of the sheer energy with which it travels
