top 10 is stupid. the show doesnt stick to the comic even a little. alot of the same characters yes but thats it. its a full reboot with a drastically different story. some characters show up later then they would or earlier or die earlier or live longer blah blah blah. the story is not even slightly the same.

The showrunners of the TV series have confirmed that Enid is Sophia's replacement. Madison Lintz wasn't sure she wanted to act, by the time she made her decision it was too late to change her characters fate. Dale was written out due to Jeffrey DeMunn wanting to leave due to Frank Darabonts departure, he changed his mind, but again it was too late to change his fate. Glenn wasn't supposed to die by Negan, but Steven Yeun wanted Glenn's death from the comics (he's a big comic fan). Merle was supposed to be a season 4 recurring character but was written out at the last minute.

Seriously, making seasons longer than what season 2 was, 13 episodes, was a huge mistake, the single biggest mistake. I'm all for having epusodes focused on character, but in later seasons, particularly 6-8. There's a ton of time where nothing of substance happens and the plot grinds to a halt for the majority of the season. Even in season 2 where you don't get major plot events every episode, there was still always relevant character growth and development. Balancing character development and plot progression were things the show kinda lost as the seasons got longer and longer.

i dont like carl or rick in the show though. carl is a whiny punk his actor just comes off as a cringe loser. i dont care how cool he is in the comic. in the show hes a punk and i wish he suffered more in the show. Also daryl hasn't been cool since the boondock saints. The best characters in the show are Shane, andrea, beth, and negan. Which you can do the math and see how many of my favorite characters in the show died already. i get why people like carl in the comic but in the show hes a punk like i said. i was a norman fan when no one knew he was back when i grew up with boondock saints as a kid. I honestly think hes just average in the walking dead.

You know if you watch both season 6 & 7 you can see that Enid is pretty much taken over Sophia's storylines. Enid is in love with Carl, has a strong bond with Glenn and Maggie and lives at the Hilltop just like Sophia.

Bingo. Sophia doesn't get decapitated like Enid did but yes, both were big blows. Sasha was the new Andrea at first. Then the new Holly. Michonne became the new Andrea. Carol became the new Michonne. Henry became the new Carl. I'm sure there are more.

In the comic, Tyreese has a daughter, who has a boyfriend. When the characters meet Tyreese in the comic he and his daughter and boyfriend are welcomed immediately, though the boyfriend and his daughter wind up killing each other in the comic shortly after they move into the prison. But the boyfriend or Tyreese's daughter aren't in the show AT ALL and Tyreese is introduced very differently.

I"m about to say something that a lot of people won't agree with I'm OK with Rick and Michonne hooking up. They're were friends for a long time and they've been through a lot of shit together. Also, Michonne and Carl's earlier interacting in the show gave both of them some much needed character development.

Like right now, it doesn't seem that good because all they are doing this season is setting up and just dragging the season on until the next season which is most likely when All Out War starts. I knew that after the mid season finale that they were going to just use this whole season as a way to just set it up. With an famous scene kicking the season off like that, of course people are going to get pissed or bored or just the momentum after that episode is just going to disappear after. They should've had the first episode of the seventh season as the final episode of season 6.

It's important to know that comics and television are two entirely different medias, and the show wouldn't be near as much as an emotional rollercoaster without these changes. Daryl being one of my favorite characters, and Hershel being #1 for his change of heart. Beth's death is as dramatic as Tyreese's death and Lori dying during childbirth is Step 1 of "Mission: Turn Carl into a Bad Mammajamma". The transfer from page to big screen was also seen with Harry Potter, LOTR, and many other iconic shows and movies. Different medias, different presentations.

I really haven't watched the show. However, I believe I heard somewhere that the scene in the comics where Michonne tortures the governor (which was quite possibly the most brutal scene in the entire series) never occurred in the show. I can definitely see why: much of it would probably have to be cut (it was pretty extreme), and at that point it just wouldn't be the same or have the same impact.

If that make you feel better, in the Telltale games developped as a spin-off to the original comics, Alvin Junior the child that Clementine adopted survived as well as Maggie's son who she called Hershell in memory of her father. So there was a miracle just not exactly the one that we expect for Rick back in the prison. Then again, this is "The Walking Dead" .

The comics and tv show both have strengths and weaknesses. For example, I find Rick to be a lot more arrogant and weak in the comics (still a good character) and the claimers story arc in the show was better developed. Not THE best part of the show but one of. When Lizzy, the idiot little kid obsessed with walkers gets shot and killed by Carol, that's better. When the dumbass kid that Carol scares dies, that's better. When the dumbass kid's emo brother dies, that's better. When Andrea dies that's better. So, Lori dying is the 5th best part of the show, which is still pretty good. I hated Lori, but not as much as those characters.

When Andrea died on the show I got an overwhelming feeling that Carol will get Andrea’s comic death and Daryl will have to put her down when she turns. Now that rick is gone that at least somewhat makes sense. But the rest not so much. But for some reason I can’t shake the feeling that that’s how carol will die.
